Squeaking sound

Installed sr springs, bmr panhard bar, and koni Orange shocks and struts. Now I have a squeaking sound coming from the back of my car and it even happens on flat roads. I thought it was the shocks or springs but I had somebody press my car up and down by the trunk while I listened and I couldn't even hear a slight squeak. I regreased the panhard bar and still hear it. Any ideas what it could be? It's driving me crazy having a new car squeaking going down the street

What did you torque the pan hard and shock bolts at?
Did you put the isolators back under the springs when you re-installed the rears?

If the panhard is good and you only notice it while driving, check your top shock torque. Too tight and they make noise.

Could be the springs on your perches, too.

Also, how long have you been driving on the new goodies? Sometimes it make take a few hundred to have everything settle in and stop squeaking.

My guess is if you regressed the panhard it is spring/strut related.

Just a guess

I've had them on for about a month now but the squeaking has gotten louder. I did some more driving and listening today and I think it's actually the struts squeaking. Anybody have that problem with the koni str.t struts?

You said rear but now saying struts? Hmmmm.

Have you double checked to make sure springs are properly seated on lower and upper perch? A slight misalignment on the strut mount can cause lots of squeaks.

It was in the rear too but I regreased the panhard bar and now I'm hearing it in the front and I got out of my car and pressed down on the front to make it bounce and heard squeaking. Figured it's the Struts because I've checked the springs and everything is seated correctly. After some searching I found a post on another forum where a guy was complaining about the same thing and said he had to lubricate his struts every other day or he would hear the squeaking so he switched struts.

Then try lubricating it and bounce it. Takes seconds to start eliminating things from a list of culprits.

Same issue with my 08. It is the bushing on the LCAs. As a test I hit them with wd40 and it stopped, so I have new BMR LCAs going in tomorrow if I have time.

Could be the rubber bump stops. I trimmed mine because they were rubbing and I had a slight squeak. Sure enough, that was the issue.

I trimmed my bump stops too so idk that could be it but I know it could be a million different things and I don't feel like taking my car apart that many times just to see if I fixed whatever it is so when I go get my car aligned I'm just going to ask them to see if they can find what it is and possibly fix it.

Koni had a bad batch of the orange struts for are cars instead of recalling them they sold them anyway.. I know I have brand new ones and they squeak waiting on warranty replacements as I speak you can call 1-859-586-4100 ext 6 mason will answer he does the claims and verify what I have told you ... Hope this helps ..

Thanks that actually does help. Just got done checking the springs and struts and panhard bar and making sure everything was tight. Drove it around and didn't squeak for a few minutes then I heard it. Got out and bounced the front passenger side and heard the same squeak. Kinda screwed up on koni's part. I was going to American muscle Monday to see what they said but I guess I'll call koni. I'm getting my alignment checked again Monday morning and I was going to ask them to take a look and see if they could figure it out but I'm almost positive it's the struts now. I'll call that number and extension and let you know what they say

Well I'll make sure I never buy or recommend a koni part ever again. It's ridiculous they sold them knowing they weren't right and take that long for a claim. My car sounds so awful because of the squeaking it's honestly embarrassing to drive. I don't even want replacements they can have the struts and give me my money so I can go give my money to another company who does things right

I thought I bought these from American muscle but I checked my email and I actually bought them from late model restoration. I called late model restoration and told the guy everything and he said that I could take them off the car and return them to get a refund. Idk if it will actually be that easy but I thought this might help you or anybody else that's having this problem. I would call whoever you got them from and see what they can do

Now late model restoration is telling me that koni is handling their own warranty claims so I need to go through them. This is some bs. Pay good money for struts that are supposed to work and not sound like sh*t going down the road now I'm stuck squeaking and dealing with this long drawn out process. I dislike koni now to say the least. Garbage company.

Yeah a month is ridiculous. I've already put these struts on then took them off to check everything then took it to a shop to make sure it was the struts now I guess I'll have to put the stock ones back on and wait for replacements whenever that will be and then put those on and hope they aren't doing the same thing. Should have just had to take the car apart once but since koni screwed up I get to do it 4 times and have my car sounding terrible for a month and a half

I wouldn't say it's bad luck. It's a bad company. There are other reviews on sites now and people complaining about the squeaking too

I'll be putting my stock struts on this weekend and sending the koni's to them. Hopefully they don't send me the same garbage they tried to send you.

Have you asked if you could just get your money back that you paid? I might do that tomorrow but I doubt they will. If they do that I'll just order yellows

Yeah I think I'm going to order the yellow koni's and then just send the orange ones back and when they send me new ones I'll try to sell those. Really don't feel like taking another chance on the Orange koni's. They rode pretty good but sounded like sh*t
