The only issue with those motors is the weight, they weigh over 1000lbs................put that in the front end of Mustang and you've got a snow plow.

Viper is an 8.4 and doesn't weight that much. It doesn't have to be a 9.0 liter I'd be happy with something over 400 cu in.

That sounds fast for these cars, that is a 11.58-11.74 corrected.

I love the look of the car, but I heard it drives like a boat.

Agreed, I really like the scat, but that price puts it out of consideration for me. I would prefer to just put a S/C on the 5.0 and call it a day.

A stock auto scat will run off and hide from a stock new 15 gt mustang. They are actually very nice cars with the 15 updates. I would take a straight across trade in a heart beat on my car. My buddy ran a 12.53 @ 112.24 (bone stock) at my local track which is 1500 elevation. DA that day was over 2000. Most of the auto's are running 12.2-12.3's stock at sea level. Drag radials even lower. His first run he ran with traction control off and did a 1/8 mile burnout. LOL

Maybe you should reword what you're trying to say, but the way you put it, makes it sound as if a new Mustang will beat the Scat pack lol, which we know isn't true, at any rate, they ain't worth what Dodge is asking for an optioned model

From everything I've read so far, the scat pack and the GT are pretty dam close. Scat pack has it by a 10th of a sec. But that so close, anything could make the difference. Could easily go either way.

The scat pack felt a lot stronger than the 2015 GT I drove, but I also think it had a lot to do with the sensitivity of the gas pedal. A little bit of gas and 485tq was fun off the line.

The one I took a ride in felt very healthy and traction seemed better than in my Mustang.
I think the car is nice to drive in a straight line, but my Mustang could have run circles around the Dodge during any corner carving.
The motor is and could be a real demon, given it has 90 cubic inches more, 75lbft more torque............even carrying around 300lbs more than my Mustang I'm not sure I could out drag one. It's not about HP............it's about cubic inches/torque.
My 5.7l Hemi 1500 quad cab pickup could tow my 3000lb race car and 1500lb trailer up the Grape Vine and pass anything in it's way and not even break a sweat.............and still pull down 16mpg..............those Hemi engines are good. Not to say our Coyote motors aren't good also..............we just need a little more help like the 5.4l with something sitting between the coil covers.............IMHO

Being as dodge designed the engine for low end torque at the cost of high end HP. They are quick out of the hole. Most of the time the other car is playing catch up...

I used to love playing this game with my old drag car as I had almost 550lbft of torque at 5700rpm...........not sure I'd like to try it with the Mustang with only 390lbft at 4250rpm.
Kind of like trying to drive around someone at 140mph in 5th and putting it in 6th......................ain't going to happen as the torque is just not enough to get you going faster..............unless you've got a couple of miles of road.

2015 challenger scat pack

Yep my challenger is going to be mean when I get it done. No upgrades, except what it came with from dodge. I'm going to piss off a lot of Camaro owners here...
😁

Guess I don't understand the "hate" thing...........I cut my teeth drag racing an early Camaro in SS/IA a few years ago.
I would just "rather drive a Ford".

It's not the car it's the owners. They mess with everyone all the time. I was taking the Porsche one day and lo and behold the was a Camaro leaving the restaurant before the on ramp. Which I knew what was going to happen; they're like clock work. Which he floors it right behind me revving his engine. And we get on the high way he tries to pass a semi on the roadside, and me being in the passing lane. Well he hits the brakes swerves over to get behind me. I'm doing the speed limit and I get in front of the semi. He gets beside me revving and shouting at me. Then floors it. I'm just thinking REALLY?!
That's why everyone here hates Camaros, not because of the car because of the owners...

Reminds me of a time that a Camaro SS was turning onto the other side of the highway(one of those areas you can legally) I saw him. Then I just see him do a ricer fly by, and he had to be doing 90-100 by how fast he went by, since I was doing about 75 and he flew by.

Unmarked cop then sped by me and pulled the Camaro owner.

With tuning, cat delete, and tire the 8 speed autos will be easy 11.80 cars. Not bad for 4200 lb car and minor bolt on's.

It's being restored, that's what I meant. And no upgrades as in it will be factory set up, no aftermarket parts...
Keep in mind the car is 45 years old...
