You would still need to purchase a tune. I would skip the CAI since the stock one works so well and just purchase a tuner/tune from someone reputable.

Depends on who you buy from. VMP sells them for $100 with free revisions.

Lund sells them for $200 with free revisions and you can get the cam tune included with that.

Tune, not tuner. A N/A tune isn't going to cost that.

No it's not. I'll repeat, your stock "true" CAI is better than any aftermarket crap out there. Save your money there. These cars see gains on the exhaust side, not the intake side.

More like $600-$700 since he stated it was $500 for the used combo.

Why do you want an aftermarket CAI? As Grabberblue stated, unless you are looking for a cosmetic change, you will gain NOTHING from an aftermarket CAI,

I was set on buying a used tuner, but was always skeptical before buying. Finally i said f it and bought a brand new one with my tunes already programmed.

I'd say buy a new X4 skip the CAI...

What is American Muscle in the business of doing? Selling parts of course.

Another thing that a lot of people forget is modifications will only help if the original parts don't get the job done. On SOME cars an intake will help. But for the 11-14 mustangs ford did a good job with the factory one so your not going to see much if any gains. All cars have different bottle necks that restrict power, just have to identify them.

Well that's half true. The jlt and bbk cai's that keep the stock intake pipe diameter are for mainly cosmetics. But the airaid that comes with the venturi cone makes a difference. Because with that venturi reducer installed it keeps your tube diameter before the throttle body to the stock spec. With it removed, it allows more air flow and more air to pass the maf sensor. If you remove the venturi cone with no tune the check engine light comes on. Because it's too much air. The airaid is one of the few cai's that actually increase hp. The jlt looks nice, but it's a waste of money.

Got proof? Show me some track slips with the only change being the Airaid. I'll patiently await your results.

While I fully agree about a CAI providing no extra power, one thing is being overlooked here. Not everyone is as interested in actual added speed performance as much as the implication of it. The CAI does the exact same as an axleback exhaust mod. It allows for added engine noise. For some folks that is all that matters.

SCT X4 tuner and Lund tune all through Beefcake Racing for $409.00 right now. Seems like a no brainer to me.

Aftermarket CAI kit does not add any power, but looks better and sounds immensely better. There are a bunch of tune options if you already have the SCT and/or CAI - JMS, BBR, Steeda all have good tunes for low dollar. The tunes for these cars bolt-on are pretty similar. Per request, the tuner can easily set the throttle feel from mild to aggressive . Personally I think an aggressive throttle ramp in makes these cars so much more fun to daily drive. The stock drive by wire tuning is really lazy and makes the car feel very soft in light throttle conditions.
