Ticking noise when driving

So I was driving my car today with the windows rolled down.. I herd a ticking noise.. kinda like taking 2 pics of aluminum and tapping them together. Put the car in neutral and coasted and the motor rpm has no effect on it.. but speed does. Brakes bad? Aftermarket 20" tires with 305 rubbing?

Some people mentioned their breather valve on the differential causing this. One person found a sticker on their driveshaft causing this. Could be other things depending on what area it is actually coming from. Have you tried to get a buddy to cruise next to your and see if it is coming from the rear or front?

Yup. And its annoying. I have a sound like that but its because i installed shorty headers. So i am still isolating it.

First need to figure out a general area where it might be coming from.

outside the box

we used to mess with buddies and put a tie-wrap around their drive shaft...every revolution it would hit.

did you remove the brake retaining clips?

can you put the oems back on to see if that is issue?

small retaining clips (star washers) on studs that hold the brake disc on for assembly. OEM rims have indents but aftermarket rims often don't. If yours are still on (1 per wheel) pull them off.

Well I hit the brakes and it went away so I pulled my ebrake and that also made it go away so I think it's the rear brakes
