I don't think the procal will work with that.

Yep, might just have to give up on my first love there. The Vortech tune with the kit will have to suffice.

I wouldn't be running the tune that comes from vortech either.

It'll do, unless the driveability is crap. I'm not looking for block-busting power out of my DD. The low-hassle, smiles-per-gallon is pretty high with a low pressure SC setup, based upon my previous experience.

Not meaning the power the kit makes. The vortech tune is slower, than a Bolton coyote with a bad *** tune.

You can do a custom tune with under 600 rwhp and be a night and day difference from the vortech tune

A custom tune and about 550+ at the tires would be alot of fun, and a lot faster than the vortech tune, regardless of how much power the vortech tune makes.

Yeah I wouldn't waste time with the canned Vortech tune.....you spent the extra for the polished head unit, spent a little more for a good tune.

Well, that ain't exactly true....I bought the kit lightly used but complete, for a good price so, I didn't pay more for polishing. I'd have preferred black but, mustn't quibble.

Well that's even more reason to shell out for a good tune. Trust me...you won't regret it.

The driveability will be lame and part throttle will be weak sauce. The car will disappoint at all but maybe wot and even that will be weaker than you were hoping for. The canned tunes that come with any of the blower kits suck. The $250-$450 you spend on a custom email tune with data logging will make the car way more fun, it's not even close. Pick your tuner - Lund, AED, Chris Jones at BBR just to name a few.

Thanks for the advice. I'd appreciate any suggestions for reputable tuners that are familiar with this charger. I want no risks.

Customer service was much better when Steve was at BBR. He left sometime late last year. Chris at BBR does a really nice job on the tuning, but it takes more patience to get revisions becuase he gets overbooked. If you are willing to put in the data logging time, AED will get you six or seven tune revisions in 3-4 days and your done. These tunes are gonna take some revisions, especially to get the driver demand drivability the way you want. You cant go wrong with AED or Lund in this case, BBR does good work but it may take a little longer but they are also about $200 cheaper, last time I checked. i would not waste my money on a dyno tune, it's not necessary if you follow data log instructions closely.

Depends on your setup. I would not risk my car with a data log on nitrous. Not going to happen. All motor is a different story. I'm spraying to much to risk a data log.

And his customer service is down for me, bc I have been trying to buy his old hellion single off of him. Talked to him 3 times in the phone, but can never get around to him following up and checking what he has left, or price.

I agree on a high horsepower set-up or with something like large nitrous hits because of the cylinder pressure induced so rapidly, but a typical blower set-up either centri or pd - these guys have these tunes down - they send out a limited base file, dial in the maf via short term trims, then allow wot on a very soft tune, they verify fueling is spot on, then very slowly add in timing, finally they work on the drive by wire (dbw) settings to the customer request. This takes 5-8 tune revisions to really get right and the guys like Lund, AED, BBR and others have this process dialed in. I would do a 150 shot on an a good email tune all day long, but that's the most I would spray one of these stock and I would start my tuning at 100hp and work up to 150.

I am on the same page with you for high hp or exotic set-ups but you see so many people who get "dyno tunes" and then complain how their car drives like **** all the time other than wot. WOT tuning is really not difficult, it's the data logging and tune changes on the street in different driving conditions that really makes a difference. I started using HP Tuners on the coyote once the 2.25 beta came out and have spent literally a 100 hours dialing in my TVS 2300 set-up, but in the process I have learned how to tune the car which is challenging because pretty much everything is based off predicted torque tables and I have been tuning my own GM stuff for 10+ years. Even the best guys in the industry like Shaun at AED have had some cars that seemed perfect on the dyno then had problems on the street that had to be cured through real world data logging.

Absolutely.
Trust me on my dyno tune lethal performance had the car in there over and over n4 I was satisfied with it, Shawn took care of it though. My 80lb injectors gave him a run for his money.
