GT/CS spoiler trade for stock GT spoiler?

Stewarts359 on here has a GT/CS spoiler and he's looking to trade me for my stock spoiler. We have the same year car, same color and everything. He's wanting to just swap out the trunk of our cars with the spoilers on them. Anyone wanna chime in on this? Good idea? Bad idea?

Taking off the stock spoiler was a Peta and I broke it so swapping trunks may be easier? Not sure. Seems like alot of trouble but I do prefer the cs spoiler over the stock one personally just don't know if it would be worth it. All up to you bro

Yes you should look at pictures of the oem cs/gt spoiler, it looks nice with the black towers and white on top.

You're getting a good deal. Trunk swap makes things relatively easy.

I'd want to do it in person, just to make sure his trunk/paint, etc... were all in good condition.

I believe the cs spoiler has different holes, so lid swap better. Also there is all that double sided tape that you would have to contend with. I'ld do it in a heart beat.

I would buy lunch for ANYONE on this forum just to be able to hang out with someone who knew literally anything about mustangs. I've never even hung out with another mustang enthusiast.

Here's another question about it. He has the little black Sirius radio antenna on his trunk and I don't have it on mine. And that thing leaves two holes from what I understand if you were to remove it. Still worth the trade to have little black turd on my trunk for the better spoiler?

Yeah I would still do it. You could use it or get the MMD color matched cover and call it a day.

You can use the Sirius with a stock radio?

You can use it, if you get a used shaker radio. It's a direct fit, you get that but lose your aux.

Nah. Thanks though man. I've never turned my radio on. I don't even know if it works. I just roll the Windows down. No ac. No radio.

Just bought a performance white CS spoiler for my Kona blue 3.7 from AM to replace my boring factory spoiler. There is no comparison between the CS spoiler and stock spoiler. Its a no brainer and nothing to think about. CS spoiler all the way

Have a great day!

^ Removing the stock wing was soo easy, removed it in 5 minutes. It was a pain In the *** to put the c/s wing ( dropped the screws on the trunk) and aligning everything was time consuming. I love the look on it tho compared to the stock

Because the 2 spoilers mount up slightly differently, the swap of the entire trunk lid makes sense. The stock spoiler has single bolts at each mounting point, while the GT/CS uses 2 at each mount so only 4 of the stock holes can be used. And the stock spoiler won't hide the holes left from removing the GT/CS off his car - that is probably why he suggested the lid swap.

Scares the hell out of me getting rid of the stock trunk for a different one. I guess just as far as resale goes. I love the look of the cs and I'm sure I'll have the car for at least the next five to ten years anyways. Just trying to talk myself into it...

Does it come with a template for one to align and drill the 4 additional holes? I think the CS spoiler is one aggressive looking spoiler and my favorite personally.

Have a great day!

Another thing to note, the faux gas cap will say California special on his. Yours does not. Removing the entire panel is a bad idea. The clips break easily. I would recommend pulling the faux gas caps off and swapping those as well. They are attached only by a pc of double sided tape. Just thought I would mention that.

i doubt resale value will matter it isn't even a discussion point. Either they prefer one or the other spoiler.

For meeting people do what I do and run cruises. I've met a bunch of good folks this was the most recent.

New England Spring Cruise

I have even helped out RoboStang do his suspension and in the Fall mine is gonna get done. I see lots of people from TX on this forum so they are out there.

So the good news is that he doesn't have a GT/CS. He has a GT premium but he added the cs spoiler and cs side scoops from the factory. So we have the same faux gas cap so there won't even be a need to swap them over. Should be a pretty straight forward swap. Anyone know how to align a trunk? Is it as much of a pita as aligning a hood or does it just bolt right up?

It should be pretty easy. Just snug the bolts up where the old one was, and very carefully test the fit as you close it. Adjust as needed. It's a walk in the park. It's cool that you don't have to worry about the faux gas cap. So his CS spoiler isn't factory ford? It's like an American muscle one? I like the factory ones where they are painted black on the bottom.

They are not painted on the bottom, I believe it's just the plastic and the top its painted

These are pictures of his car and the spoiler I'm talking about. He said that they ordered the Mustang from the factory with that cs spoiler. So it has to be an oem Ford spoiler.

I've never seen a white cs in person but in the pictures I've seen it looks awesome. Easy swap and a free cs spoiler I can't really say no to the deal.

It's win win for both of you, you get the spoiler and he he doesn't have to fill the holes with yours.
