Was it normal to begin with? If it was loose and you tightened it the code will stay on for awhile

You had it installed by a mechanic? Why wouldn't your first thought be to take it back to the guy that installed it?

The issue is the purge valve, not the gas cap. Do you have the means to datalog the vehicle? You can both digitally and visually check for leaks, but that is going to be your issue.

Yep, 99% sure he either did not hook up your purge or did not connect it correctly. I just installed mine 3 weeks ago. I hope you did not use the Ford boss install kit...

CAI....does nothing, costs a lot. Creates faults for you to try to resolve because you don't have enough to do anyway and let's face it....who wants a perfectly running Mustang with a factory CAI.

Willing to bet the 5" intake and 1500 CFM filter on my CJ does something

Stop repeating what you see on here. The whole CAI no gain BS is BS at that. It all depends on your application. Can't relate it to every build

All he does is say something about the "hot air intake" as he calls it every chance he gets. It's about as annoying as it can get.

A cai won't add as much hp n/a as it would once you go forced induction. That is true. They will add power like rap said it just depends on your application.

Mechanic probably didn't hook up the purge valve because the connector wont reach and didn't want to cut and splice.

Oh I agree. It's just tedious listening to him (and other people) rattle of that same line over and over.

I agree with Turd Ferguson. The mechanic probably thought it was as simple as bolting on the parts and giving the car back to you. You did purchase the boss intake manifold intstall kit right (or relocated the purge valve some other way?). I have heard that the code/light is just a nuisance, you don't have to worry about any damage being done to your engine FYI.

How does the line reach I just bolted my valve to the block and used hose from the Intake to the valve. But the purge line doesn't reach now I don't know what to do.

you are going to have to cut and splice in an extension piece...the original mechanic needs to be given a chance to fix it or $ back.

It doesn't say anything about cutting and splicing in the late model restoration instructions it just says to used their kit. Which is hose a couple clamps and the bolt to attach it to the block

At first I Just plugged up the valve that was sucking vacuum. But the check engine light came on.

So I don't know how to get that purge line to reach under the throttl. Body all the way from. Where it's attached to the driver side strut mount.

I had this same code come on for me yesterday, got boss installed at a local shop. He didn't take out the purge value from stock intake..its literally 2 bolts. Follow LMR instructions and it be good to go.
