What kind of tires for '14 GT?

I have a '14 Mustang GT/CS and it came with the tires below:
Pirelli P245/45 ZR 19 98W M+S

These tires are about $180/ea, is there a better alternative that may also be cheaper?
My GT is a daily driver; no racing/track or crazy driving.

But I do drive it a lot, about 20k miles/yr, unlike most ppl I see that do 3k/yr (lol).
It is not my only car but I figured I am not saving miles on the car for the next person!

Also, I live in FL so no snow/ice or any kind of all terrain tire (also another reason I can put so many miles on it).
Just wondering if anyone can help me out with some suggestions. I would like to get with AM since they have free shipping.

Cooper Tire & Rubber Company - Cooper Zeon RS3-A™

Light years ahead of the stock Pirelli tires. I have a set, they are absolutely great for the price. Discount tire direct has them with free shipping also.

I used to live in Fla also and it sounds like you're doing a lot of highway driving and high performance tires aren't what you're looking for. Probably most people here will still recommend those sticky high speed tires without deep tread but you could benefit from some all seasons that handle rain better.
Tire rack does charge shipping but it's not much, there's also Tirebuyer dot com and discount tire direct. I think tire buyer dot com is free shipping. AM has mainly slicker high performance tires and they also have the same ones you already have.
Here's just an example from tire rack. It's not rated for as high a speed but still...rated to 149 mph should suffice.

Goodyear RS-A's are some of the worst tires I've ever had on a car in the wet. Perhaps the A2's are better than their predecessors but you couldn't pay me to give them another go.

My only real advice is better summer tires than what you have, tend to also cost more not less than the stock pirelli's. If it were me I'd pony up the ~$215 a tire and get some Conti DW on there.

Second this one!

Not GOODYEAR, but Cooper!

The RS3-S are very nice if you want to move to a summer tire.

I drive about 20K a year as well and I have a staggered set of Nitto INVO 255 40/20 front and 295 35/20 rear. I do have a little nitrous and they work nice with my setup.

I have these and love them. Bought my set from Discount Tire, they had the best price and I contacted their recommended local shop for the install.

Agree to this but OP may not want to go to 20,000 Mile tires.

Thanks for the info tire gurus. The stock pirellis are the LOUDEST tires I have EVER experienced on a vehicle. Car has 15k on it now and I cannot wait to replace them.

It really depends on what you want. It's a tradeoff many times with traction vs longevity, not to mention budget.

What's your budget? I have a GT/CS and still have the stock '19 rims. I decided to put Michelin Pilot Super Sports all around, and they're some of the best tires I've used. Pricey, but worth every penny.

^^ This
I just put the Mich PSS on mine yesterday, with 15k on the perelli. After reading tons of reviews, the PSS stands out as the best tire. But it isn't cheap. Of course, neither was my 14 GT. I'm not going to cry about a good tire on a $40k vehicle.
1st impression of the Super Sports.... Quiet and smooth!!! Takes bumps with grace, no more bouncing. And my SYNC Bluetooth works again.... Road noise is 1/10 of the Perelli.

Are they quiet? That is my biggest complaint with the pirellis.

I am planning on new wheels and tires late next year(20 inch TSW) so not looking to spend a huge amount if I need to get new tires now.

I like the Michelins, too. To save a bit and be more like DD tires, I went with Pilot Sport AS/3. Prices vary widely for some sizes, like the 265 width. So take time looking for best price/size/looks

Yes they are. Watch some of the reviews on tire rack they out performed some of the way more expensive summer tires in testing. For the money you can't do better

Never ran the tires at the track. Adjust your psi in them, what's your suspension setup?

BC racing coilovers, and all of BMRs rear suspension. I had my tires down to 28 but didn't seem to help much

The Conti Extreme Contact or EcoPlus tires are hard to beat.

I just ordered some Michelin pilot sport a/s 3 for the rear of my car too. Kind of got out of all the racing so didn't see the need for drag radials anymore as they only last 3k miles. Ordered them in 275/40-18 for my 10" rear wheels. On the front I still have the nt555 in 255/45-18 and will switch them in about 2 weeks when I come home from Daytona and get some more money lol
