Changing Tuners: Question for SCT devices

Just wondering. I know the SCT x4 devices allow for 5 unlocks. So does this mean if I decide to go with "x" tuner then return to stock, can I go with "y" tuner? How does one switch to a different tuner on the same vehicle? I know when you go through I tuner you marry the device with him through the serial number right?

The unlocks is for different vehicles not different tuners. You just load the different tune onto the tuner and then into your car. It is really easy actually

locks are when you have a married tuner (ie locked) and send it back to get unlocked. they charge for this but if you put in your tune, then go back to stock it is still unlocked (never locked) and it don't matter. Locking is actually rare...either stolen/crashed ecm or something like that.. You can have two different tuners for one car but be sure to go back to stock before tuning with other tuner.

Your SCT device is married to you car through serial/Vin. It has nothing to do with whoever sends you a tune as it is stored in the SCT device. You can have multiple tunes stored from a company like Lund/AED/Steeda...ect.

Just make sure when you switch tuners you put the car back to stock before loading a new tune from a different tuner. If you are just loading a "revised" tune from the same tuner you dont have to switch back to stock. When you are loading a "revised" tune from the same tuner, the device is just rewriting the areas that were changed in the tune you already have.

This is spot on and fairly important.
