Mustang won't go into gear

Any advice or thoughts on why my car will not go into gear? With the motor running it will not go into gear. When the motor is off, the cargoes in the gear in the clutch works perfect. I'm currently stranded and so any advice would be great

Here's more info...
I put the clutch pedal in and it went to the floor. After that I could not get it into any gear.
I'm locked out and it grinds a lot

Idk worn out clutch maybe. Sounds like it needs to get towed to a reputable shop.

Sounds like a hydraulic leak somewhere in the clutch line or one of the cylinders. Time for a tow to the shop.

I had it towed home it's in my garage.
I'm thinking it's the clutch or slave cylinder.
I'm just glad that I got at home. I was 1.5 hours from my house. It's not my daily driver so I don't have to worry about getting it into the shop right away.
I checked the price of some different clutch packages. Not super expensive, but can anybody tell me the cost of the labor?

Change it yourself. It's not a bad job. But to change a master/slave cylinder usually takes 1.5-2 hours.

Cool! I didn't know if it was too advanced. I've done all the work on my car myself.

Absolutely!
Actually I have a Mustang mechanic that will diagnose the problem and install a new clutch and slave cylinder for $400. I would be more than willing to pay $400 for that much work!

Mustang won't go into gear

Not everyone is in super galactic oneness with a transmission. And I'd bet money it took longer than two hours from the time you first step foot in the garage with the car sitting there, jacking, disassembly, running off to the parts store once or twice, reassembly, etc up to the time you had the tools put away, car on the ground and driving it. Go check the batteries in your 55 year old timer, I think it died.

Hey comp respect the elders. If allmydrivers says his 80yo *** can do it maybe he can. Never judge a book by its wrinkly covers no matter how frayed the edges... or stained... or even if it's written in some weird 1920/30's English that sounds kinda... old.
