Shorty antenna install

So i got a shorty antenna and ive been tryin to install it for a few days now. But the original one wont unthread. The antenna itself twists but i can turn and turn and turn and it doesnt move a cm. Is there something special i have to do or is my original antenna basically stuck on there?

My antenna did that when I went to a car wash and they tried to remove it. Turns out the bolt in the antenna was messed up. Ford yanked it off and gave me a new one. No issues since.
