side marker lens problem.

Has anyone else experienced my problem. My Mustang 5.0 is rarely driven, like new, a 2011 with 25000 miles. I think Ford had a problem with the glue they are using to glue the lens to the signal light assembly because I visited my brother today and he is a licensed mechanic, We noticed my left marker lens had obviously blown off (not broken because there are no remnants of the lens) so my brother inspected the right lens and it was half off too, and yes my ford dealer will be getting call tomorrow./

If it's the one under the fuel filler door, happened to me also. Used clear silicon to stick it back. Mine come off because of gas overfill, more than once.

No... the two in the front bumper for the turn signals.. the one I lost because I just noticed it gone, then my brother the mechanic tells me "You can't order just the lens, you have to order the whole assembly" Just lovely.. $50,000 car and they're too cheap to screw them on like the old days.

Wink

$52000 sticker price actually...worth more than that now.. 2011 Mustang GT convertable (only 23000 miles...like new) with every option including the back up camera/GPS/entertainment center(shaker sound system), plus I added a cervini hood, cervini top cover, zinertec rims with Hankooks, BBK cold air, Borla exhaust, Bama tune. lots of chrome, Running close to 500hp because I have a friend with a dynoed Camaro with proven 476 hp and my Mustang will walk all over it. Video attached

Brent believe or don't believe me...I could care less one way or another.. the window sticker was $52,239... as for the HP maybe I could have less.. I thought it was around 440hp maybe but my friend is a professional dragster, with the proven dynoed Camaro at proven 476 hp. I let him take my stang for a run, he came back and said "I don't know what you think you've got, but this will walk all over my 476 hp Camaro, so I'm guessing close to 500hp" so they were his words, not mine.. so do what you want with it.

and just to ease you mind.. I sunk well over $60,000 into it but certainly I wouldn't expect to sell it for that. All the new ones loaded, are over $60000 now , so if I EVER sold it, I wouldn't take a dime less than $35000

Your car is only worth what someone is willing to pay. And that's only going to be what they can buy the other guys car for buddy. I would suggest you never sell it because you will have a long road ahead of yourself trying to get 35k for a mustang with no real significance.

Up here in Canada, we don't get a lot trim levels like you guys do, there is no base GT. You buy the V6 or the premium GT. And our cars go 10-20% more (supposedly because of our dollar, even when it was par, go figure)

Maybe I should clarify.. I'm in Canada.. $35000 CDN is about $27000 USD... It would sell for that or I wouldn't sell it. You forget... I don't need to sell it, so my attitude is "This is what I want, and if that doesn't suit you then take a walk". By the way.. beside the custom hood, tires and rims.. I also would include the original tires rims and hood, still new. That is...if I ever wanted to sell it, which I don't. I posted video here of mine but I don't know where it is, I just know I've had mine to several car shows (cruise nights) and I can't count how many times I've heard "That's the prettiest Mustang I've ever seen".

Onlyforbrian is kinda right, I paid around $52000.00 for my 2014 GT Premium and put around $5000.00 in mods so far. Up here in Canada we pay a bit more for our Stangs but they really do keep their value better and longer. And we can usually get some consideration for the upgrades done when we trade them in or do a private sale. Just saying.

Actually it comes as a unit... the lens is glued (not screwed) to a backing plate with the bulb holder attached. My brother is not wrong.. he's one of the best mechanics in North America. A few years ago GM held a mechanic's competition and over 100,000 mechanics entered, GM gave a collector plate to the top hundred, my brother was one of them who got the plate. I already called Ford.. bad news, it only comes as a unit, good news, just $35, Compared to the back tail light assembly at $461.
