13/14 aftermarket tail lights for 11/12s

I absolutely love the 13/14 tail lights but not much of a fan of the new/used price tag that comes with them ($1k).

I've been searching for a reason why there are no aftermarket tail lights similar to the 13/14 tail lights. I have read several opinions on why people think there are no aftermarket tail lights (ford stopping aftermarket companies from producing such tail lights) but, no one (aftermarket company or distributor) have confirmed these "storys".

Any of you find out why? Maybe the dudes from AM can comment on why Raxiom hasn't come out with lights similar to there 05-09 (13/14 style) lights for the 11/12 mustangs?

There now a sealed unit. I spoke with a Ford tech and asked him why so much? Ford decided they can make a lot more money in the sealed units, than normal setups which you can screw a bulb out and replace it. Ford may own the patent, besides some after market companies are not jumping out right away to make parts for the newer mustangs.

Thanks for the post but, (showing my lack of knowledge here) what exactly is the difference between sealed tail lights and others which are not? Does it mean you cannot replace the LED light stripes or other bulbs?

Exactly. It's one unit, anything goes wrong and the whole unit needs to be replaced. Pretty good idea for Ford, S*cks for the customers.

They can keep their lights. Too much money just for looks.

13/14 aftermarket tail lights for 11/12s

Guess that's why their only on 2 years of the Mustang lol. I loved the lights on the '14 which also helped in me deciding to buy it. The 2013 2014 mustangs are the best looking ones except the old school fast backs. In my opinion.

Looks like Ford continued with the "sealed" tail light theme for the 15's also. Those tail lights aren't as expensive as the 13/14's though.
