Potential problem?

So, ya know that sound these cars make when you first turn the key to the on position, I believe it is the fuel pump priming. Not that low buzz sound but higher pitched, hard to describe but if you have a Coyote you probably know what I'm taking about. Anyways I just took my car on a 2k mile round trip vacation and while on vac I noticed it intermittently stopped making that sound at times. No I'm back and it doesn't do it at all. I still hear the low pitch sound but that's it when key is turned to run position. My question is what's the noise and is this a problem on the way? Car has 42k on it and is an 11.

You got HIDs? That's them.

HIDs = ballast buzz. I hear it almost all the time. Especially louder since I put HIDs in the grille fogs but, noticeable even with just headlights on. Sounds like what you're describing.

The fuel pump prime is pretty noticeable on these cars too, especially if it's sat for a bit. Nothing wrong with that.

I think you can relax. The car would code out if there were issues with engine management.

It's not the hid buzz that's a completely different and much quieter sound. It's the fuel pump hissing sound is the best way to describe it that it makes when u first turn the key on but before you crank it. Mine has stopped making the hissing sound, it's made that sound since the day I bought it. What I'm wondering is why...

The system is returnless so, it doesn't always need to fill up the rails at startup.

There is no answer to your question but, what I can tell you is if you were having fuel supply problems the car would run like **** and throw you lean bank codes or misfire codes, long before any damage was done.
