Remove it and you will see what it does.

It didn't do a ton for me, but then again, I do have no cats and straight through mufflers. I can hear the phone a little better from both ends though.

Thanks. Can't believe it's almost $6 to ship this small item.

Mine was $3 shipping. Probably because of where you live.

I also just removed mine and honestly I can't tell a sound difference while driving but I do have Roush axle backs and I'm old.
It's worth it though just for the cleaner look under the hood and easier dipstick access.

Did the sound tube delete. Can't tell a lick of difference. Must be my bad ears and too many metal concerts in my 20s

It's not something you notice what sound you're exactly missing, unless you go back & forth (put it back on) and listen. Under normal granny driving you don't really hear it. Its under harder acceleration it was more noticeable.

If you use bluetooth phone regularly... your callers on the other end will notice the difference.

Just go to a hardware store and buy those runner caps you see underneath tables/chairs. *if* I remember correctly, its a 1 3/4" hole after you remove your sound tube. Put a clamp on top of it, and you're done. Under $5. Same thing as blowfish kit, nothing different.

As for the sound, I find my cabin is much more pleasant and it doesn't have the sort of harshness it had before. I can still very well hear my exhaust. Not to mention engine bay looks much cleaner.

Bought a C&L intake from a guy who said it didn't come with pieces to delete sound tube. Will this kit work on the C&L for deleting sound tube?

I put on the Blowfish kit a while back. Not sure why he includes a hose clamp? It's simple enough to re-use the OEM clamp that held the sound tube to the intake. The OEM clamp's darker finish blends in with the engine bay better and the constant tension design ensures against it loosening up in cold weather and allowing a leak. I think those shiny screw clamps look cheap.

That's exactly what I did today after I received it, looks way better. I didn't believe it would make such a difference but wow, best 16 dollars I've spent on my car yet.

Just installed mine from blowfish, yeah you are right, looks better with original clamp and not shinny new cheapo. I have roush axle backs and I can hear them better now when I romp on it. But cruising is very quiet inside now without the sound tube..

I just installed mine today also. In my opinion, the sound tube took away the same amount of cabin noise that my GT500's added. Cabin noise is same as stock now. Also, recently went to the MPSS tires. The SYNC system is useable again!

After reading this thread, I think I'm going to remove the sound tube. I about to upgrade the exhaust and it looks like removal will keep cabin noise similar to what it is with the Stock AB.

Ace hardware sells a 1 1/2" rubber furniture leg cap for $3.99. Fits perfectly over the opening and the original Ford clamp works as well.
