BAMA Performance v2 tune gas mileage

This is my first post with MustangEvolution.

I have an auto 2014 GT w/roush axle-back exhaust and new 19'' Forgestar f14 matte black rims w/mickey thompsons. I recently loaded a Bama 93P custom tune. It seems my MPG went down a bit. My tank meter doesn't rise above 270mi per tank. With factory set up it averages 300mi per tank which is about 19mpg.

Does anyone else have the same issue? Should I try the 93Race tune?

Thanks.

How many miles did you put on your car after loading the tune? Also, are you sure your foot didn't get heavier after uploading the tune?

Its been 400+ miles. I know the shifting pattern is different with this tune. It seems it wants to stay in lower gears longer now.

With my 91 performance v2 tune, I get about 350 miles to the tank. However, with the 91 race tune I get about 270-290 miles per tank. It's just how sensitive the throttle is. Plus how you drive with the tunes.

Fuel Mileage

Have Bama V-2 91octain tunes, leave race tune in all the time. Getting 19.2 mpg daily, but took a trip to Denver and got as high as 31.4mpg(avg mpg when I got off the freeway was 28.6mpg, whole trip avg.) I am very satisfied with my tunes, drives great and idles smoother than stock and no more bucking when not totally warmed up.

I've got a 93RV2 tune and my mpg hasn't seemed to suffer at all...

I just did a 4 hour round trip, pretty much all highway and I averaged about 27.5 mpg on the highway. I was pretty happy about it.

Thanks, I will try the 93Race V2 tune and see what that does for my mpg. Just did a 2.5hr highway run and avergaed 24mpg with the 93P tune. The throttle response with this tune is very sensitive compared to stock so that is a good point i just need to go easier and get used to it.

It also depends on what gears you have, I have 3.73 so my mpg is significantly lower then someone with 3.31 which most cars come with unless you ordered something different.

Hey Rprill - It's really going to depend on your style of driving but most if not all of Bama's customers will experience this within the first few weeks or even months running the tune.

I would run another tank through her and try to keep your foot off the go fast pedal and see the change!

No problem brother! I just had a PM about it.

From what I've heard from the Bama Camp they're shooting for a late fall release.

I have been meaning to contact Bamaha. I don't drive my car that much or hard, I just enjoy modifying as much ch as anything. However I have Kooks exhaust, headers and their X pipe with high performance cats with Roush axel backs, with cold air intake. My MPGS went from 18 to 14.5 with the tune. Also runs real rich. My wife says I smell like gas every time I drive it.

Also 2011 Gt, 6sp, Kooks headers, Kooks X pipe with fake bullets for Cats, CA intake, drive like a 70 year old, 14.5 mph around town 19 highway. I also smell like gas when have driven the car. I feel it's running a little rich.

Tuning my 14, one of things we have found is they like a little more fuel so we shoot for around a 12.8 - 12.5 AFR. This richens up the car and of course uses more fuel causing a slight decrease in fuel mileage. But I don't care, I bought the car for fun and some oomph, If I wanted fule mileage I would have bought a Honda.

Yeah, I don't mind the mileage so much as fumes. I spend 8 hours a day in a Prius for work. It's nice to hear the V8 and just know I can pass just about what ever I want to.
