Future GT Owner, Quick Story (Roush)

So I've been reading through forums and watching youtube videos for almost a year now in anticipation of getting a 2014 5.0. Like many others, my first mod is going to be exhaust and have had my mind made up to go with Roush, resonator deletes, and custom 3" pipe to stock H then to ABs. I've read and watched everything imaginable and it is true, the sound is NOTHING like hearing it in person.

I got to hear the Roush ABs today. He started it up and I got straight chills. Sounded so badass. More than I could have thought. My fear was having my mind made up on the ideal setup and being let down but wow, the exact opposite. Can't wait to hear in person with resonators gone and 3" pipe.

That's all! Just thought I'd share a fun little story from today with anyone interested!

As long as the drone doesn't piss you off after a while. I personally have lethal offroad h pipe, resonator deletes and gt500 quadtip mufflers and the sound is F'ing awesome! And the quads look great as well.

I've never read anything about drone with this setup. Even if so, it's only going to be a fun car. No everyday driving. The gt500 sounds good to me but not loud enough based simply off the videos.

Roush got it right with the ab. I personally love the way it sounds to me it's what it should sound. My future plans are to get lt headers and h pipe. If U happen to get these installed before me I would like to listen to them.

Pretty loud when you go catless with the gt500s. But if you plan on keeping cats than roush is a good choice.

Quads look awesome. I don't have any plans for an aftermarket H or X, at least I say that now. I think it sounds badass enough with the 3" pipe and stock H.

I'm with R.R.STANG. I have the same setup. But it all comes down to personal preference. All ABs sound good, but all sound different. The deciding factor for me was the following:

1) I don't like "raspy" sound. I like the low rumble of Quad Tips.
2) The look of the Quad Tips.
3) I like loud good tone, but not obnoxious.

I have the same set up minus the quad tips. Does the quads make that much difference?

Yes, in my opinion, they do. I've listened to the standard GT500 mufflers before opting for the Quads, but they weren't quite loud enough for me.

The quad tips don't change the sound. It's just an appearance

I've been looking at Roush and Gt500 ABs - I hate it that Ford Racing jacked up the price on the GT500 ABs...I waited too long...

As it has been discussed in many other exhaust threads and any video you watch/listen to, Roush and GT500 seem like they're at the opposite ends of the spectrum, in terms of loudness at least. Not sure why it would be a pick of those two but I'm sure you have your reasons. (Not that there is anything wrong with that) I've read a lot about GT500 being a top pick if you are going to go headers, X/H pipe, etc. vs Roush being a top pick if you are NOT going to go that far with an exhaust setup.

I'm running the boss 302 H-pipe with sides pipes and roush axle backs. When I first got it I loved it. Only thing was that it dulled down the roush's. I just deleted the resonators about 2 weeks ago. It seemed to really wake up the roush's(louder popping) a lot more and became overall louder when opening up the throttle. Cold start is insanely loud and when opening out the throttle it makes it scream (raspy, but pleasant).
