Best clutch for 435 RWHP 5.0?

Want something that doesn't sacrifice drivability. It's not a daily but I'd like to have a clutch that isn't a pain to drive around town. How's the exedy 500? Any better?

AFIAK the stock clutch is good to 600hp. Don't need to fix what isn't broke. Unless you got one of the early run 2011s with clutch issues that is.

Unless you like to rev over 7k. The stock clutch doesn't hold up well above that point

My stock clutch lasted almost 4 years. Two years of tracking the car took its toll. One of the four Springs exploded through the clutch plate. When racing my car I shift at 7000+ RPM.
Replaced it with McLeod RST twin disk. Clutch pedal is lighter then stock! Grabs twice as hard.

How the **** is that? If I get mine to 7200 rpms, I have no second gear, almost every single damn time. Unless you "short shift" to second then run the other gears out.

Rather be lucky than good any day of the week. Unfortunately, I'm good just not lucky.

Clutch swap will solve a lot of the problems also.
As well as the mgw shifter arm bushing if you have a Barton

It's definitely the clutch, it's like it never disengages when I get that high. 7000 fine 7100 basically fine, 7200 not fine. Also I have the mgw race spec and it makes the shifts better but doesn't fix that.

I don't know that I've ever had a problem with any other gear change other than the 1-2. But then again I don't know that I let it get passed 7000 or 7100 in the other gears. Having to make sure I don't hit 7200 going in to 2nd I guess I don't let myself let it go that far into others either.

I have a supercharged 13 boss, had to change the clutch out too.Any shifting above 7200rpm's and I got locked out too.Changed to a mcleod rst and braided clutch line and now shift as high as 7800 rpm's with zero issues.

Has your original clutch gone out? If not I would keep using the stock one until you have issues.
