Roush vs borla touring

I recently purchased a set of roush axle backs. This weekend I'm going to take it in to get the resonators removed. I plan on going o/r x down the road and as many people say it will be to loud with this setup. I found a local guy that will trade me for a set of borla tourings. I couldn't find much on YouTube. Will the tourings be fairly loud with just the resonator delete?

They are basically stock sounding. Watch the video borla has in YouTube. It will prob be great for the off road x but you won't notice much before then in my opinion.

I've heard the roush with resonator delete x pipe (not o/r) and 3 inch pipe and I though it sounded amazing.

Resonator delete isn't a huge deal. I had cat back magnaflow street mufflers (no resonators in the 3" over the axle) and it wasn't loud at all. I would bet you won't notice much difference.

If you are going off road the tourings are a smart move.

I won't be going off road till probably the end of the year. And I know if it's quieter than the roush I'll be a little bummed.

I had muffler deletes basically took the mufflers out and drove it like that for over a year. And I wanna say it was louder than the roush ab's. I feel like the roush are a bit to quiet. But it might be because I have the noise coming out the rear end unlike when I had no mufflers at all

I know this guy and have heard his car personally. It does sound good. But it's so loud I can hear him from 3 miles away easily. Not sure your going to get away with that in Cali man

Not even in the low rpms? If I'm happy with the sound with the res delete I'll keep the cats and add an x pipe. I live right next door to the local police department literally right next door. There real friendly always waving. And staring at the car, don't know if it's a good thing though

Your bet is going to be res delete and x pipe. Trust me my friend is already regretting deleting his resonators, I can hear him from blocks away. Its stupid loud once you're about 3500 rpms

I like Borla better, but just in my own opinion. If you want raspy sounds, they have the ATAK version of axle-back

Nothing raspy about borla atak mufflers on a 5.0 with cats still in play.

Well that is absolutely true. Hey I have a short question, if installing a new Axel-back to replace the stock one requires to cut off the stock pipe using a saw, will this cause potential damage to the car such as leaking or others? (for 15 model)

No, this is pretty common with aftermarket exhaust installations. If you do not feel comfortable doing it on your own you should have someone else do it.

This is not my experience. I fitted the Borla Touring axle backs and they are noticeably louder, but not at all obnoxious, than the stock set up. My exhaust system is otherwise completely stock. Having said that they are mellow and deep sounding with no raspiness at all.

Not sure if I'm misinterpreting this question but typically an aftermarket axleback is made to replace the stock without any cutting involved. Fairly straightforward.

The 15 is a bit different, but even the 11-14 had some that were cut and clamp

Sorry, I just assumed on the 15.
Here is the install video.

Looks pretty easy if you have a good saw.

Yup! I saw this video. Will the bolt-on fall off after a period of time of usage?

Why would it fall off? That's a commonly used method of making exhaust connections. If it would help make you sleep better you could get it spot welded. JK
