I'll bet if someone loves it that much it could be retrofitted onto the regular non-50 Year cars.............It is a nice tribute to the original cars, but I don't miss it on mine.

Everything but the wife and Dog are for sale.... lol
For the right price almost anything can go.
When I get my Boss it will be Orange, because that Flavored Boss is the best.
I am not getting an S550 but if I did you could bet your rear end I'd be at the wreckin' yard pulling a 2014 cap off to attach to the Bubble car. A few guys have sold their Boss Mustangs to get a HellCat Challenger/Charger, which I don't agree with. The fella that had my Mustang before me traded it in for one....

Maybe they're selling them for a GT350 next year.

I was surprised to see those antiquated, solid axle, Boss 302's hanging with the '15 Shelby GT350's at Road America. I guess if you have the money, you can tame the SRA.

The SRA is very capable on a circle track where there are no imperfections or issues with the road. Handling on the street... IRS is probably going to win honestly but at the track its not so cut and dry. Look at Bruce Griggs' 98 Cobra with an SRA. That thing will roflstomp ANYTHING in production right (including supercars) now and pretty much anything modified as well.

To answer the original question of this thread. If the car is going to be a DD, get the 15. If its going to be garaged most of the time and only come out on nice days, get the Boss.

You should see their 69/70 boss they have (forgot which year). Even more of a beast. My friend (Pete from FTR) got a ride in it at Sonoma. Arguably the fastest car that day.

When I started looking for my Mustang last year all of the low mileage Boss 302's were in the mid to high $40's.....they have come down quite a lot in just a year.
The price of my 2700 mile TrakPak was almost half of what I would have had to spend to buy a Boss 302...............I like my Mustang and although I might not be quite as fast as the Boss on the track although I don't think I'd be that far behind...........depending on the experience of the driver I may even be able to catch him......anyone with a Boss want to come out West and try on Laguna Seca or Thunderhill?

FYI: During development, the performance target for the S550 (with Performance Pack) was to meet or beat the Boss 302 performance on a road course. That goal was supposedly met.

The s550's "Coyote" (think it should have gotten a new name) engines took the Boss302 "Roadrunner" engine and translated some of those parts that could be used in mass production. The "new" Coyote engines don't get all the extra time polishing & buffing, etc... but they did get some of the reinforced internals, over the "old" s197 Coyote engine.

Hey Kona,

Why all the hate for the new ones you do know they make the S550 in a V6 right?

But they took away most of the optional packages for the S550 V6.

The only plus is I think you can get 3.55 gears in it from Ford.

Options are a waste of money in the s550 they come pretty loaded in base form. Swap seats with takeouts if you need to and get the 3.55s and call it good till the warranty is up.

Id probably take the 6 over the eco and am kind of wondering what the used market will be like in a few years or the leftover market new if/when Ford phases the 6 out completely. There may be some amazing deals.

This is a good point. I have the bare bones model, with the only option being 3.55's.

Or a 07-09 GT500 with all the mods and a TVS for $30k. That's a lot of car for the money. One just sold near me for that price doing 680/620 to the wheels with a conservative tune.

Or just find a base 2011 auto gt for $20k and put $3k into it and run 11s...

There are also an assload of handling mods for the S197 platform.

I'd take the Boss all day long. It's a better investment and I'm sorry but the 15 to me isn't as satisfying to drive than the Boss. I've driven both . The Boss is a special car with a limited production run. It's a no brainer.

To me the boss is a lightweight muscle track car and the 15gt is a heavier touring car that is more comfortable.
