12' GT Trans Issue

I just bought my '12 GT exactly 30 days ago from today and slowly I have been noticing that when the trans gets warm, and I go to shift into 2nd and sometimes 3rd gear, it's extremely difficult. I'm 99.9% positive it's the synchro's. I've had a shop drive it and a friend drive it and they both said the same thing. I took it up to dealer I bought it from and told them the problem and how frustrated I am (this not being my first issue with this car). The tech up there told me that it's most likely a clutch issue and I told him that if it was a clutch issue, there would be a problem with all the gears. Not just 2nd and 3rd. Anyways he told me to take it to the Ford dealer and have them look at it and if it's the synchro's, they'll fix it for no charge. Cool. However, I'm more worried with the tech saying it's a clutch issue just so they don't have to pay to fix it. Anybody have any insight as to what I can do to avoid being stiffed over?

1. You either got one of the bad ones
2. The car was abused previously.

Bring it to ford that's all you can do. Unless you pay out of pocket.

Rap is right first bring it to the dealer, my problem was the clutch at high RPMs I could not get into second gear, was locked out. The new clutch solved my issue

It's probably a lot easier and cheaper for them to say "you burned up the clutch because you can't drive." than it is to say "you got a crap transmission let us fix it" lol

Lol I remember when I burned up the stock clutch in my 03 cobra. I was 17 lost control spun the car around 3 times. Once it stopped had to drive all the way home in 3rd. Could not get it any any other gear.

If you have the stock shifter and stock trans oil, you should be in good shape and they should fix it.

I experienced "notchy" shifts into 1st and 2nd, but my dealership blamed it on my MGW shifter and didn't even look into this problem. I mentioned that there is a Ford tech bulletin for adding a friction modifier to the trans oil and that's all they did. This helped a bit, plus adjusting the MGW shifter adjustment screw. It's still a little bit "notchy" in 1st and 2nd, but I can (and have to) live with that.

I didn't want to change the trans oil, because of eventual warranty issues, as they may have a reason to blame it on the oil.
