Next mod

Hey guys for my next mod I wanted to do my mid pipes. I would like to go H-pipe because I love the muscle car roar. Just wanted to know if you guys had any recommendations on which H-pipe to go with. I have a 2013 mustang gt. Thanks for the help

I would think any off-road h pipe would do the trick

Off-road mid pipe and rough axle backs will not have a "muscle car sound" at all. This is how it will sound like πŸ’©

^ there we go. That's how it will sound

Op for real though. It will sound horrible with off-road mid and the roush axle back. If you want to go off-road look into a different axle back. Or keep the stock H pipe.

I don't think I'd call it πŸ’© either. I know a guy with UPR off road x and roush mufflers and it sounds good. It's mega loud and can be raspy. But it's all about what you like. I kinda like hearing his car sometimes but I wouldn't want to have to drive it all the time.

I will say if you really want to go off road, pick a muffler that would otherwise be quietish . Like borla tourings, magnaflow streets, or gt500 mufflers. Most people don't regret that. Good news is you can try the roush off road for free and if you are highly offended by it you can easily trade someone for a different muffler.

My outlook is if your going to be that obnoxiously loud. The car better be able to back it up.

I have kooks cat less mid pipe and bassani axle backs and love it. There is a bit of drone while driving about 55-60 in 6th gear but at 65mph it's completely gone and I usually drive 70-80mph anyways lol

Thanks guys. Off road is just cat-less right? They recommend it for tracks use only due to the smog release? Or its not intended to be daily driven?

This.

It has been my experience that the loudest Mustangs are very often some of the slowest. Witness every 2V ever with an OR pipe, Flowmasters and the stock 4x4 suspension.

Yeah off road is Catless. They say track use only because it's technically illegal to drive any car that came with cats without on the street. So these companies get away with selling the parts by saying use only in off road applications.

I hear ya, but I think we all can agree a coyote can live up to most of that expectation just on its own.

Tuned and geared and suspension yes. Too many ppl think they are invincible in 5.0s tho and they're running around on the stock suspension and Pirrellis.

I had the Roush AB but am in the minority of people that do NOT like the way it sounds. Way too much trumpeting under hard throttle for my taste. I traded them to another forum member for a set of GT500s - loved them as is.

I added off road pipes first with the stock H and GT500s and it was LOUD. Then I swapped the H out for the Pypes X-pipe and absolutely love the sound now. It did quiet it down a little over the H-pipe, but I prefer the higher pitched raspy sound.

Every time I read you say this I hang my head in shame lol. Most of what we have around here are your Typical AutoZone straight piped hondas, so relative to what we have here my car is "fast"

I have the roush ab's and a upr 3" orx. It's LOUD. Very raspy after 1/4" throttle from 2.5k-3.5k when cold. When it warms up tho and the mufflers come up to temp, I think it sounds awesome. Has a higher pitched scream rather than the traditional muscle car growl. I get guys asking me all the time what set up I run and how they like the sound because it's different. I will admit it's probably louder than I would like for a daily driver, but there isn't any drone at any speed. But the noise is always there. Long freeway drives with the 3.73's can get tiresome if you don't like the radio higher than a third of the way up.

It's not for everyone, but I like it and feel no desire to change it up. It'll quiet down a good bit when I go turbo but still go full ****** when I get on it.
