MMD ductail or GT500 wing?

Hello, I am interested in the MMD ductail spoiler or the gt500 spoiler. Both look great in my opinion but it seems like everyone has the gt500 wing and I would like to have something different than what everyone has. So what do you guys think? Which one looks better? Which one do you prefer most? Thanks!

I'm personally not a fan of the duck tail type spoilers. I actually like the Roush spoiler, but I ended up going with the GT500 because the 3 piece Roush spoiler has a piece on either side of the trunk the require drilling holes, thus being irreversible. I thought about it and could probably have skipped the screws and just used the 3M tape, but the GT500 was a direct bolt on. It's all personal preference though, and I totally like the being different aspect.

Trust me I loved the gt500 wing at first. That's what I was going to get originally. But after looking everyone has them and that's what made me turn my head towards the ducktail. The gt500 does look great, I like it better in fact. But it's all about being different I guess lol.

Roush is worth the drilling in my opinion. Life is to short to worry about the holes you just drilled in the quarter panels

Oh yeah, forgot to say that it's a 2014 GT. If I didn't say it already. And with the Roush wing, I am not planning to drill any extra holes. But it does look great!

The ducktail looks like crap on the 10-14 body style and The gt500 is played out. Get something you don't see all the time. Every dam 10-14 has a gt500 wing on it.

The ducktail does look good on the 05-09 though.

I had a gt500 and I liked it but I knew deep down I really wanted the roush. I finally grew a pair and did it. Couldn't be happier.

Here is the good thing, if you go either gt500 or ducktail you can switch it if you decide it's not for you. At the end of the day you will have to decide what you want.

That's what I'm saying. I wanted the gt500 wing then realized everyone has it. That's why the ducktail was my second choice, because not many people have it.

I'm just not a fan of the ducktail on the 10-14 personally. Depending on the color of your car it may look good though. You won't see it everyday though which will be good.

What's going on Bryan. I'm obviously a little biased in the position I'm in..Did I mention I work for AM

If I just dropped into a 10-14 GT I think I would shoot for MMD's Duck-Tail Spoiler because you're absolutely right. Most if not all guys shoot for the GT500 Spoiler. It's pretty easy on the eyes too.

While there's absolutely nothing wrong with the GT500 Style , it's nice to personalize our cars how we see fit and make it look different than the guy that lives around the corner from you.

Check out the install guide Right Here and take a look at our video on it. Let me know if you have any questions at all and I'm here to help.

Hello, is that the ducktail wing? If so I think it looks pretty sleek! And thanks for the info!

I've thought about a ducktail for my 11 GT... Don't think I'll pull the plug on it though.
If I had an 05-09 as others said I'd have a ducktail as well. Just like that stock look of my 11' though.

Hey Bryan - That's correct and that is indeed the ducktail.

Definitely sleek and it's not something that you see everyday right?

I'm not sure what color your Mustang is but check out the customer submitted images and filter the colors to get a better idea of how it'll look on your car.

Let me know if you have any other questions, I'm a PM away.

Alright, I have a black mustang. I went on american muscle last night and I think one person had it but it was a bad picture. Couldn't see the car. Would you happen to have any pictures with black mustangs? Thanks.

The stock look is definetly awesome looking. Im in the same situation as you are. I love the stock look but just kind of want a wing to make it look even better.

This is the best one I could find. Mind the wheelgap!

I just ordered the GT500 spoiler...only because where I live there are very few Mustangs and even fewer with a non stock spoiler.
If it were a common spoiler here, I would go different like you are doing but I really think the Roush wins over the ducktail. The Roush looks very unique, makes the car look special addition so to speak and the ducktail looks more definelty added on and generic but different than the rest. It has that "fits most cars" look to it, where as the Roush is unmistakably just for that car and like it was done by Roush itself.

The Roush spoiler does look very clean. But the only thing with that is drilling the holes. I REALLY want to refrain from doing that because what if I don't like it? Well too late for me once I drilled the holes and put the wing on. But the Roush wing really is IMO just for the Roush mustang. But it still does look great on other 'Stangs. And also with the GT500 wing, when I bought the car it had these aftermarket gt500 rims for AM. Still on the car and I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard to be a gt500

I think it looks pretty good! And it being a v6 with stock rims it still looks great! Imagine it being lowered with aftermarket rims, it would look even better. But thanks for the picture! That helps me a lot with deciding what I want. Still not sure yet though!

With that logic you should also leave the GT500 spoiler to the shelbys only. Just saying.

Now that looks really good. Good job with that mustang dude. And that Duck tail looks really good with it also. I think that convinced me to get a duck tail not going to lie. I really like the look of it on your mustang especially.

Thanks I appreciate it. It is IMO the best option from American Muscle. No doubt in my mind that the Gt500 wing or maybe even the roush would look good too, but I love this one.

Yeah, I have to admit I love the look of you're mustang. Think those rims will look good on black mustang?Same as you're mustang but black. I got Matte black gt500 style rims and kind of want some contrast with the car, you know?

Lol, nice. I'm thinking these rims(Maybe) the ducktail wing and get it lowered. So did you only get lowering springs and a panhard bar? If so how is the ride? Stiff? Or in the middle between stiff and soft?

With stock rims ducktails don't seem to work as good (looks wise), to me at least. If it isn't lowered I don't think I could convince myself to do it. I don't like the back of the wing to look straight up and down
If I lowered mine this is the only way I'd go, the hood would have to be a must as well:

The MMD (10-14)

The ducktail looks like crap on the 10-14's it does not go with the car at all. Looks like a ricer part you get at autozone. I have yet to see one picture where it looks like it belongs

It makes certain people tick. I think that the GT 500 and CS spoilers should stay on those specific models....
I think I found my only option though assuming my stock goes missing... The Roush looks good, real good.... May not look good with my Kona color though.... SO I am staying stock spoiler, forever.
