Anyone has relocated their battery to the trunk?

How hard it is to drop the saddle like dual fuel tank in S-197?

May I put the battery in the spare tire well? Is the battery too tall for the depth of the well?

Good to know that. Maybe that will make it unnecessary to drop the fuel tank?

Yep. I put an optima yellow top in my spare tire well and bracketed it in. Ran ought-1 cable to front and it's grounded to a large body nut on trunk floor and to a chassis nut under seat. It's been running great for 10 months. Took all the battery related pieces out from under hood. This will make my header install a bit easier, or shorter. The car runs on rails only not enough Hp for me. JBA 304 series long tubes and catted H are up next. Then a tvs2300

Got my curiosity up. I'm going to check my stock trunk mounted battery in my '11 Charger R/T to see where/how they grounded it.
I do know that they provided remote battery posts located in the engine compartment for jump-starting.

The 12 v battery of my Fusion hybrid is hidden in the side panel. That battery is small.

In my 08 I did not use the tire well as that is where my Air Lift stuff is.

Put the battery in a Taylor box.

I ran three welding cables from the trunk, 1 gauge for Positive and Ground and 4 gauge for the alternator. I fused both the positive and alternator cables.

Ran the battery cables through the back seat and along the passenger rocker panel.

and through into the engine compartment.

Cables were terminated in the original OEM battery locations. You can see the ground wire location in this picture.

Very happy with the install as I have had zero electrical issues.

I had a battery mounted in the trunk on one of my cars. Pretty much did nothing, but at least it was janky and sort of a PITA
