E85 cold start issues?

Opinions needed

My cars on full e85. Runs well. No complaints there. But the cold starts are a real b*tch. After it idles down, I get rpm surges for awhile where it feels like the car will die. I usually kill it and restart it. After that's it's good to go. Curious if anyone here has similar issues on e85 cold starts?

Any possible things I can fix? I know I can log cold starts since o2 sensors are not providing valuable data yet.

Part of running e85 in cold weather. No fix. If it gets real real cold it won't start lol.

Shaun at AED and used lu47. Only at cold starts does it do that.

E85 cold start issues?

It's more than likely a 02 sensor.
Stock headers?

Once winter gets here. Be prepared for something similar. And being hard to start at times.

But this is different now

Hmm how would I determine if it's the o2 sensor?

To be a 100% for your piece of mind. Send Shaun a idle log.

But it could be something different that's why I asked if you have done anything after the e85 tune. Remove a manifold or anything?
How long have you been running 85

Yes. First cold start after e85 switch. When I did it on the dyno after the switch, it was still warm and no idle issues

Ok we should have covered this b4 all the 02 crap. I assumed it just popped up.

Check your purge valve.

I did fail my inspection due to o2 sensors not readying up. I did tune just a couple days before so idk if retuned affect o2 sensors in that respect

I went outside to take pic of mine but it's tucked away so can't get a good pic. Did realize I need a new battery though so eh. So here is a screen shot of one

On the Stock manifold its behind the throttle body on the manifold itself. Check everything you disconnected It's more than likely something you took apart while changing the injectors and didn't get sealed correctly again.

I'm giving you things to check. It started after your injector install which leads to something not being installed correctly.
Or your 02's or possibly the tune itself. Which is doubtful as most of Shaun's base tunes are better than a lot of people's data loged ones.

Good lord I hope so. As Shaun's tune for e85 would have been for the 47's at a minimum.

Yeah I'm sure he pcm isn't the cause. I'll check those things first. I need to drive it tomorrow so after tomorrow I'll recheck everything I've taken off before. If not that then I'll email Shaun one more time with a couple logs and hope it's not the o2. How much do o2 sensor run for?

😔 ugh. Well I'll make a warm log right now just to have it ready. I'll check the purge valve in the morning when there's more light.

That's a good price. But I don't use factory ones for the 🌽 and do not suggest he does either.

But at cold start the o2 sensors aren't producing any valuable data? So data logging cold starts wouldn't be beneficial in this case for remote tuning?

Which are the "good" ones? I mean how will it stop from moisture ruining it?
