I would never pay to upgrade the my-82. Perfectly fine with stock one. If it goes spend the money on a different trans

The tranny gets rem polished internals, cryo treated internals, welded fork with brass tips, ceramic bearings, whatever needs to be replaced and a few things that he keeps secret right now it is holding a thousand horsepower at the strip without exploding or coming apart, thought thats the most reasonable way to go.

Not a bad alternative to a Tremec if your making more than stock. Cheaper than getting a whole new one but I'd sleep better at night knowing it's new... Not knocking anyone's work but post back after 5K miles (if it's a daily). I am curious....

OP, my stage 2 built tranny is going in this Wednesday too. Although I'm just bolt ons with 3.55 gears. Possible boost in near future. From what I read as per Ben calimer, this unit should hold up and shift better than a 'stock' T-56. I'm looking forward to it.

What exactly did you notice going from your stocker to new built mt-82?

Ben Calimer transmission

Haha I'm taking that claim with a grain of salt, T-56s break too - around 850-900hp. Cryo treatment + rem polish should add strength to mt-82 to withstand same amount of power as t-56 if not more

that is important......most places give you a wtty but having one that is worth more than a used piece of paper is great.

did you do this for a specific problem/reason or as preventive?

Well it's good to see people tinkering with the MT82 trying to improve it. The further into production it gets and with more of them out there I think you will start to see more guys doing this.

The problem is there is very few aftermarket parts forever mt82, Ben utilizes the factory parts and just make them better

I could see an aftermarket developing as they get further in production and more of them start popping up in scrapyards. People will want to use them for builds and companies will make the parts if there is a market.
