Sporadic P0303 Code
I have been battling an intermittent P0303 code for some months now. The times that it has been showing up has always been during idle, never during driving.
My car has 53,000 miles on it. Like I stated, this intermittent code has been coming on for several months now. I have swapped all of the coil packs around several times amongst each other, to see if the problem would stay at cylinder three, or move. Nope, still misfire on cylinder three.
About a month and a half ago, I put in eight brand new OEM spark plugs. I also put an o-ring on my crankshaft position sensor and did the neutral crank relearn myself. The misfire code went away for several weeks, but it has since returned. Cylinder three again, only.
I have used a long screwdriver as a stethoscope so that I could hear the fuel injector clicking, and the fuel injector on cylinder three clicks with the same sound and clicks at the same frequency as all of the other fuel injectors.
I am lost now. Should I replace all of my fuel injectors? Can Ford do some kind of electronic diagnosis and tell me what is wrong?
