wrench light on 2012 gt

Hey. I am new to this forum and mustangs in general and I have a bit of a issue. When I start it up there is no wrench light. As soon as I give it a bit throttle the light pops on and no response. The car goes into limp mode and won't drive. I got a new throttle body because I heard those have problems. I disconnected the battery for a hour but it still has the same issue. I can't find anyone online that will help me with the issue. I'm not sure if it has a tune or not. Bought it used. Any suggestions?

How long have you had it before the issues started? Did you replace it with a stock throttle body or a different aftermarket one?

It had the issue since I bought it. I bought it off an auction. I bought a oem throttle body from ford.

This thread will do you no good without more information. As stated, scan it for the code first. Then maybe we can help you.

Something is off here. You shouldn't get a wrench light and thrown into limp mode without codes.

I have heard of this situation before wrench and no code and I believe it was something to do with the MAF sensor

Would a bad maf sensor cause it to go into limp mode? How can I know if it's the sensor?

How is the title (If I may ask)?
Do you have an aftermarket cold air intake?
Is your factory cold air box sealed properly? (I did this once)?

Search button pulls this guy first: wrench light on the dash

Weird Dash light; "Limp Home" mode?

Here is some other stuff from another forum:
http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...nch-light.html

I suggest you find a parts car if your going to start swappin' parts...

Edit: If you don't mind whats the mileage? More of a curiosity thing for me...

It's is salvage title but there was no damage to the engine bay or any sort. It was only hit in the wheel so it just needed a shock and control arm. So nothing under the hood was damaged or messed with.

It was completely dry under the hood and I live in California so unless someone sprayed it directly with a hose, I don't think it got wet.

I wonder if your catalytic converter brick was damaged during the wreck blocking flow. I had what you described on a salvage car I rebuilt once and acted the same way with little to no throttle response but it idled fine.

Hey if you want a MAF sensor, I have an extra one I can give for almost free. I just want reimbursed for shipping. Assuming the 3.7 and 5.0 take the same sensor? I can clean it with MAF cleaner before sending it if you want.

Also wondering how your fuel system is. I would run some cleaner through it and check all the usual stuff. Like spark plugs and such.

But yea, I had an issue like this when my MAF got wet. I got a code though. I cleared it and dried the MAF and I was back on my way.
