Idiot Question: 2011 GT Auto WOT pull

So I recently installed a blower and I am trying to get this thing dyno tuned. I was told that I need to complete the dyno pull in 4th gear for accurate HP and TQ numbers. readings suggests that 2011+ in 4th gear is the 1:1 ratio.

The question is, I have an automatic, so how do I do this?

Click the 'overdrive' button on the shifter and turn off advance trac?

Your tuner can lock it in 4th to do a pull.

Let me clarify my position. I am email tuning at the moment, so when I take it to a local dyno I am only doing pulls for data logging.

Having a local tuner lock it into 4th sounds like there needs to be a program flashed to the ECU which means more $$$. Dyno pulls alone are inexpensive.

IMO if there is no mechanical way to do this, then I should receive a file from the remote tuner I bought the kit from, correct?

You can't select shift the gears manually?

In an 2011 GT automatic? D-3-2-1 are my options.

I am new to this and right now I am the filter between the eTuner and my local tuner and it is getting a little frustrating.

I can chalk it up to being ignorant, but so far "just do this" isn't helping me personally.

"How do I get to the top of Mount Everest."
"Just Climb"

Sure, but what tools and techniques do I need?

Correct that your tuner can send you a file to lock your car in 4th to do a pull. How come you aren't doing your logging on the street? Which blower did you go with and who is doing the tuning?

That does not sound like a productive combination. Do your data logging on the street (if you can) and let your tuner make the adjustments. A dyno pull without a before number is meaningless. Unless you just want bragging rights. Which I can then understand.

I don't see how it is reasonable to data log on the street. Target RWHP was 600 with a redline of 7000 RPM. I do not see how this is possible without risk (ticket, safety).

The original instructions said to data log a pull in only 1 gear: 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. I am going to the dyno for safety reasons, and secondary of course is HP/TQ numbers. 4th is optimal due to the closeness of a 1:1 ratio.

How in the world do I datalog in a 2011 GT automatic only through 1 gear (4th gear) while keeping speed down and hope to redline to 7000 RPM?

The overall issue is that I hit a peak 500RWHP at 6250 RPM and then there is a roll off down to 400RWHP when I hit 7000RPM. I was told this is abnormal as HP should continue to build in a more-or-less linear fashion.

My eTuner (VMP Tuning) told me that the dyno pull is wrong, and I need to do it in 4th gear. What I do not yet understand is does this fix the calculation of the HP/TQ and 'fix' the roll off and/or look for an underlying problem?

I have the same car, i just did my dyno pulls in third. The numbers were right on par with others so i don't see the need for the 4th gear locking tune dyno pull. Just pull in third...

If 4th gear is not absolutely critical, then I am a little frustrated that I have sent reems of data already just not locked in 4th gear.

I have a few I can try, but it requires me being an early riser. Just before dawn.

At this point I am more concerned that there is a underlying problem why my numbers plummet after 6250 RPM. I still have the stock fuel pump, so maybe that needs to be upgraded. I won't know until I get data.

Is the boost dropping off? My car has issues with belt slip at times over 4500 and I lose 5-6# of boost.

For now I will say no, because we have been monitoring the boost with a Roush gauge during the pull: ~10 PSI and that is expected with the 82mm pulley.

Belt slip has come up, but we see no physical evidence of it: residue, belt getting roughed up, etc.

Whatever it is, it has been consistent. At 6250 RPM the HP rolls off: 500 peak to 400 at 7000 RPM. Looking at the knock sensor, the knock goes crazy: +2.5 at 6250 RPM with a yet undetermined reason. Temps too high? fuel pump maxed out? Bad gas? Don't know.
