5.0 or termi? What to buy

I am asking for a friend who is looking for a 2013 5.0 or a termi. He will be daily driving the car but wont be going long distances and its not alot of traffic. The termi has 600hp because of the 2.3 tvs supercharger and other mods i dont know exactly what and the only thing he doesnt like on the termi is the km and the 2 5.0 are stock and the only thing he doesnt like about them are they dont have the brembo brakes

I personally think they are asking too much for the cobra. If he is looking for a DD the smart choice is the 5.0 for many, many reasons. This is coming from a die hard new edge fan.

Edit: It seems the cobra may be 135km, not miles. Still has me curious why it needed a new motor. You buddy is likely going to want reliability, in which he will get much more from a stock 13 than from a 16 year old Cobra pushing 600 hp. The other creature comforts offered in the newer ones will also add to thier DD appreciation.

The only thing he doesnt like about the 5.0 are that they dont come with performance package or track package so you dont get the 3.73 gears or the brembos and all the other stuff that comes with it. So are the brembos a need to have

To my knowledge unless you track the car or have to have it for appearance reasons you'll be ok without brembos as my car doesn't have them and while some say the stock brakes are subpar they do me just fine and mines my daily. To each his own.

Has anyone driven a termi? I heard that the shifter is far away and you really have to reach for it

I've owned my 03 Cobra since 2007.

The question you have to ask is do you want a comfortable car that blends in or a car that feels like it could kill you at any moment?

The Cobra has awesome seats but it will have rattles and querks. The 5.0 will have more creature comforts and more space.

Personally I wouldn't DD my Cobra. It's not that I couldn't its more the fact that I have a tendency to drive it way too fast because its so easy.

I'd pick the 5.0, especially with those miles on the Termi. Engine might give issues later, and it also will have a bunch more rattles.

The motors have been proven to last over 200k miles with proper maintenance and tuning. Most of the problems come from pushing the car to its limits.

And adding a 2.3 tvs blower on and pumping up the boost is pushing it

With forged internals I wouldn't worry. Good tune and drive it. As long as its pushing 20# or less there will be no issues. Anything over 20# requires race gas among other things.

For instance I plan on running a TVS at 19# and have 0 worries about the motor. 625-640 HP depending on dyno and drives like a factory car. I've been running 17# on my ported Eaton since 2009 and it drives better than factory.

I love a nice looking new edge but for that price go with the 5.0 he won't regret it. I know I might get some hate for this but I think the Coyote is the greatest motor to ever go into a Mustang and if you have a chance to get one I'd go for it. I'm not some Mustang fanboy either and I've been around cars a long time. I understand wanting a Cobra and if it was 15k not 21k that would be something to think about. Your friend is not going to be able to easily get a loan for that Cobra either. I would consider this a no-brainer get the 5.0.

I've been driving it so long its just normal. Some people put a longer handle on like the rock crusher to eliminate reaching.

The S197 shifter is definitely placed better ergonomically.

Do you ever have to lean forward to shift like into 3rd or 5th?

Yes 16k makes a big difference at that price it's 50/50 decision at 18 or higher think Coyote. I would make a firm cash offer at 16k. No more and if he doesn't take that get the Coyote

Personally I think all of the cars your friend picked are not worth the money they are asking for them.
I bought a 2003 Terminator earlier this year with 5500 original miles and is bone stock and only paid $2k more than they are asking for the 135000 mile Cobra.
Both of the 13's are totally over priced...I'm in the process of selling my 14 TrakPak with a ton of extras for $27000...and it only has 10,500 miles.........you guys East of the Rockies must be smoking some really good stuff!

I didn't realize at first either until I read the ads were located in Canada. Thinking about some more I didn't realize the conversion rate would be 12k for 16k US. I would pay up to 15k -17k US for that Terminator if I wanted one bad enough. The mileage while not real high is too high for the "serious collector money" which to me is ridiculous to sit and stare at a Mustang and not drive it but it's going to effect value.

For normal driving it is a bit of a reach but no, I don't have to lean forward. I also have a mgw orange shifter which is shorter than most. At the track I move the seat up a few inches.

I didn't realize it was Canada...still, unless he knows the history of the 03 or the guy that owns it I'd walk away...buying someones built Cobra with 88k miles is like playing Russian Roulette...IMHO

For lower mainland pricing this isn't out of line. The ruby red richmond car looks unmolested. The other car is missing trims on door subs which may indicate other fiddling. The rmd car has high dollar options like nav/tech and glass roof too, which are cool.

Pity about no BBP but, neither car has it so, they are equal. The 13 is a GT/CS, for what that's worth to you.

No way I'd buy an Sn95 car if I had a choice for new Coyote motor car. I've had a 2014 and a 2012. I absolutely love the 2014 I have currently. I paid 33K about a month ago for a pristine, super loaded version with 19,000 km.

Trims on door subs missing, nbd alone but begs q as to why. The car is also lightly optioned for a premium car. No comfort, no tech, no backup cam , etc.

The latest car is still another base suspension and brake car, although it has better options than the black one. At least the later 14 cars get the grille fogs back. 13 cars had a v6 look and got cs fogs due to TC regs.
