SPECTRE Cold Air Intakes

has anybody heard of this brand of Intakes? How do they compare to the top distributing brands? expected gains? and finally, are they worth the $160+ price?

What have you done with the car so far? If not tuned save the money and start there. Gains will be negligible at best on a stock motor, even more so on the factory tune.

Skip the CAI unless you want it for sound and looks.

It has already been proven that an intake won't net you enough gain to justify the money spent. Best to go with more suspension if you can. Or maybe other non-performance stuff like an oil catch can or something if you don't have it already.

^This

I've never heard of this brand but I haven't looked at late model parts for a year or two.

Spectre makes primarily cosmetic stuff for most cars, imports and domestic alike. T
hey've been in business for a long time. Most of their "Performance" stuff I would consider "ricer". Not top quality or high performing stuff. The CAI may not net you much horse power but you'd end up with a little flash/chrome and a reusable/cleanable air filter. If you aren't planning on get a tuner a top quality brand unit may not really be worth the money spent.

they are sold at Auto zone, Advanced, and O'Reilly's that I know of.. They are manly sold by the piece vs made for the car set up.
Spectre Air Filters, Cold Air Intakes & Automotive and Hot Rod Performance Accessories
I found this looking for a cheap set up for a G35.
