On3 performance offroad x pipe review

Just got in my xpipe. Not installed yet but just thought I'd start with initial unpacking. First the bad I guess, I received 2 clamps when I need one, and no gaskets, I emailed them so hopefully can get the gaskets soon. One minor thing is where the pipe goes to the x where I will clamp it there is a small dent, nothing major at all and I could just tap it or leave it. Next is something I can't really tell but my dad is a pipe fitter, he says the welds by the x are kind of crappy. Also waiting on tuner to send a tune for offroad, but it just started snowing out of nowhere. Hopefully it'll warm up like they say. Pictures attached, hoping this weekend to have it on. Also getting a camera so can upload a video.

I got the same pipe in similar condition. Was a good price for a stainless x pipe. I got mine off of ebay for a little over 200 bucks. Reuse your stock steel gaskets. Mine had a ding in the pipe too just tap it out the best you can its no big deal. It was easier for me too slip the thing together and install in one piece. No problems with mine so far. Oh and be prepared those flange nuts are no joke. Have a breaker bar and eat your wheaties before you go at it. Lol!

Yea they said they use high temp rtv or just reuse stock ones. Hopefully by this weekend my tuner will have replied so I can install. I'll see if my buddies shop will let me bring the car in but it's not likely. What's your exhaust setup and how do you like it?

Yeah just reuse the stock gaskets they are a multi layer metal reusable gasket. I just have this x pipe and Kooks axleback mufflers on my car. I think it sounds pretty decent.
When you are removing the flange nuts work them back and forth... loosen and tighten them as you remove them to clean the threads as you go. I tried to come straight off with one of mine and the stud stripped and the nut just free spinned half way of the stud. It was a pain. Soak with some pb blaster a few hours before. Also you will need some 3/8" ~1 1/2" bolts and nuts for the new x pipe. I didn't get any bolts with mine.

as said, you are much better off reusing the stock gaskets, so that's no big loss there, welds aren't horrible for it being a cheap pipe

Got it installed today. Started with incomplete tools so wasted time messing with it before getting the right stuff to reach bolts. Took longer than it should have. Also on their site it says xpipe kit so was dissapointed to have spend so much on the hardware other true kits come with. Especially now that AmericanMuscle actually has good deals up. I wish I would have waited, just another reason to stay with AM I guess. Live and learn. I have not heard the car yet due to using the copper rtv sealant on on3's recommendation and having to let it sit to cure. I have the car retuned and ready to roll for when I get home tomorrow. Hoping the sound and butt dyno make up for the let downs so far. I will post video of before and after exhaust, hell I even started it with only the headers on.

Ok. Pardon my language but holy ****. Sounds amazing and loud as hell. It actually hurts your ears if you are outside of the car. Completely makes up for all of the other issues. I have some videos, just have to get time to put them on my computer and put them together

Sweet! I like mine also. Mine isn't really very loud paired with the Kooks mufflers but I wouldn't want it any louder. My old car could be heard from a half mile away so i appreciate a little more subtle sound now days.

No, getting on the highway. My dad told me my car was louder than I thought after i have mufflers and resonators cut out. So he took it out and me and a buddy could hear him on the highway entrance ramp. And also when he passed someone

Lol. Mine is working fine for 229 shipped and 304 SS. I just put on some straight through race mufflers and with the X it is not bad at all. Can finally hear those FACTORY headers.

Hard to tell with butt dyno as I was tuned before this, and I haven't gotten on it much since weather is chilly (can't complain it could be colder and snowy). At a speed slightly above the posted limit of highway the tires gave a little wiggle, but I would say thats due to summer tires in 40 degrees. My video editing softeare no longer works I guess and couldnt figure out anything else for now so just uploaded few videos to youtube, I have a knockoff gopro that is good enough for what I will do with it but since the car is loud it doesn't capture the audio very well.
Before: stock exhaust w/ no mufflers or resonators
Will add link when youtube stops being dumb
After: swapped stock h for On3performance O/R X

Yeah the audio in the videos is bad. Sounds super loud. My off road pipe gets here today. I will review it when I get a chance. FYI I gave Mike roush a call from Mid Atlantic performance so I can get a retune for the off road pipe and while on the phone with him I asked him what realistic numbers would be with the catalytic converter delete he said 5 to 8 horsepower to the wheels.

Yea, it is really loud and I will probably be partially deaf at the least before I even finish school. The before video didn't update so I gave up on it. I didn't know what to expect as far as dyno numbers, frankly I don't care about pure power as long as my car goes. I have his (Mike's) tune and before O/R I ran a 12.19 @ 115mph, and before his tune it was a 12.9 at like 108 iirc so that guy can defiantly do some magic and knows his stuff. Going back to the track in spring as our mechanic said he would go with us and we will play around with the tires and such to see how low we can get get out of the car. I honestly can't wait to open her up, as of now we have a little crew of people we know who want to come down and all of us run the same day. Maybe I can get my dad to take the car past on the road for a video so that it isn't as close and loud.
