I hope the car isn't totaled. Opinions? It's sitting at the collision center right now. They haven't told me if its a total loss or not.

Sad sad day

I'd say she's gone brother. Even if they attempt to repair "I" definitely would not want that car back. It will never be straight again.
Sorry for your loss.

Hard to say but I'd lean towards it being a total

That is a pretty darned hard hit!
I'm glad that you are alright.

If the car is not totalled, it will be very close to it.
Sorry that happened to you...

Ouch! With that damage, you obviously have neck, spinal, and soft tissue injuries. You're probably in shock and don't realize it. I would contact an attorney ASAP and get to a chiropractor of his choice.

If the car is totalled I talked to the insurance company and they agreed I can take my aftermarket stuff off as long as I replace it with the stock stuff. So I would be keeping everything and moving into another 14 Mustang.

Good. You just answered the question I didn't get a chance to ask.
Good luck!

Sorry to hear/see that. I know how you feel. If it is a total you may have the option to buy from the insurance co. For the right price it maybe worth keeping it for the parts.

Screw the car. More important than any car, were your hurt minorly or majorly?

This thing is toast. Way too much damage that will cost labor hours. Insurance co won't take the chance on it I promise.

I talked to the collision center today. Frame is bent. Estimate for repair is 20K. Car is pretty much totaled. I have to wait and see what happens now. I just need the official word now.

Yes - how are you? That is the most important thing. The car can be replaced - you can't?

Really sorry to see that, man. Hopefully it can be saved, but it doesn't look great. I'm always so worried one of the idiots in my town will rear end me, and road ice doesn't help. How'd it happen?

If it was mine (and I've been there) I would push for totaled. You will take a financial hit either way (possible recoup with the court system) but I prefer to get the pain over right away rather than have possible issues down the road. Remember loss of value/you'll need a rental etc...I hope the person that hit you has insurance...

sorry that stinks.

just looked...that was one heck of a hit

Yeah $20k of damage is for sure a total loss. Get your stock parts together and be ready to get over there quickly and swap it all out when they give you the green light.

Then find an identical car to what you had or maybe look for something rarer like a 2012 Lava Red.

Jeezze! The oil's probably still warm! Agree with the other that it looks like a total to me and believe me you don't want them to fix that. We had a new car that was hit by a big rig about 3 months after we got it. Because the value was still high the insurance company fixed it instead of totaling it. That car had so many issues after that, related to the crash, that we would have been much better off totaling it.

Yeah it sucks. I'm OK though. That's what really matters. I'm waiting on the green light to pull my full exhaust, wheels, intake, PH Bar and see what else I can get. Hopefully I can at least get the headers, mid pipe, and wheels.

Well got the "call" earlier. Car is a total loss. I will be able to get all my parts out Saturday. So that's a plus. I'm gonna be looking into getting into a Boss 302 soon. Thanks for all input.

No the air bags didn't reply. Then again the 14 Mustang does have a recall on the drivers side air bags. Go figure.

Anything you can't remove you should file with the insurance company to reimburse you. Like the labor to remove your parts. If you don't have the stock parts for your suspension. Is your state a no-fault state? Make his insurance company pay you for items that can't be removed. Pretty sure your rear end suspension parts toast.

If it was me I'd buy the entire car back and part it out. Perfect donor for a coyote swap project. Sell everything you can and scrap the shell.

Tomorrow me and a couple of buddies are gonna take all my goodies back. So I've been looking around and I was thinking of maybe getting into a 12/13 Boss 302. I also found a decent deal for a 12 Roush Stage 3. Opinions?
