Guess what was missing on my car???..

So I am Starting to install the Supercharger and wanted to share my story! Long story short, my car is missing the foam impact absorber under the Plastic bumper cover..LOL
It gets better, the 4 Christmas tree clips to hold the foam on were all there! to Start with i thought maybe it cam off with the assembly so I double checked. Nope nothing... Clips don't even have foam residue on them. So i tring to find the correct part number and hope its not the price of a new home. Retail. where i work we make for other OEMs so i know what they really should cost, but..

Any way I am a third of the way through, getting ready to start putting back together.. Wish me luck!

If you bought the car new I would scream really loud at the dealer. If you bought it used you are basically on your own. Good luck getting this taken care of...

You must have the 404a package which is weight reduction.

It includes things like foam impact absorber delete, airbag delete, and plastic rivet screws in place of metal ones (those add up).

LOL Thanks guys! Yes, I checked the car out, i don't see damage anywhere, all Air bags are there. If i was not a direct OEM supplier i might of wigged out more. The really funny part was the 4 Clips to hold the foam impact bumper were there..someone on the line was not worried about it is what is means. I've been in a few plants to see them. I just wish my location are what makes the absorbers for this car. Where i am at we make them for GM, Toyota, Daimler and Nissan.. But no one in our group makes for the Mustang..

so far best price is 117.. Which is still a huge mark up since the part should cost about 20-30$ shipped at most.. I will keep checking!

chime in for the "404 package", brilliant! LOL.

OEM part from dealer sometimes carries ridiculous price tag. I still remember the moment when I asked a quote for the wheel lug wrench of my 1998 escort which I bought it used.

Guess what, the price quote from computer was $150! Even the part counter guy can't believe it. He simply suggested me to grab somewhere else.

Just use some duck tape. My clips broke after removing the bumper for like the 5th time and I just used some duck tape to hold it in place. It's not going anywhere.

So neither is wrong in that case. The author of that comment could have meant a specific brand. Who knows.

Well they do make traditional silver so why not. Just like any duct tape it can be used for several things. Duck brand came out with multiple colors and prints since we all know there's a million things duct tape can be used on other then ductwork.
That's all. Thread is off topic.

Straight from Cliff Claven.......
The first name for Duct Tape was DUCK. During World War II the U.S. Military needed a waterproof tape to keep the moisture out of ammunition cases. So, they enlisted the Johnson and Johnson Permacel Division to manufacture the tape.
