I agree. Viper over GTR any day. Might be biased, love Vipers.

I'm looking for the right wheel and tire combo to help me hook better I'm not going to track it and I wanted to be safe if I have my kids in it so if I'm caught in the rain storm I'll still be able to drive it

U told me the setup u have on yours . I'm just afraid if I do the same that it won't look or drive right. Would I need to lower it will the tire rub ? The more info I can get the more helpful for my decision. I need more in depth than just buy this tire and this rim. Ur talking to a novice when it comes to this stuff

No it won't look weird with 18's.

I run 2 different sizes 28 and a 29 inch tall tire on the rear of mine, lowered 1.5 and it does not rub.

I also had 18's on my 08 on roush suspension with a 295/45/18 out back

Hard to get technical with it Bc wheel size is personal preference tire size is where you get technical

I like my 20's but I'd rather have better performing once and if I can get that from put a smaller rim than il consider it

If you actually give more of a **** about performance, 18s on a S197 and as much as it pains me to admit it... 17s on a SN95. I am not a huge fan of 17s on a SN95 but with enough of a drop it looks decent. And performance wise you cannot beat the tire sizes nor price. I can get a nice set of staggered rims with Mickey Thompson street comps in 315 wide out back for $1100 shipped. Its just something that you can't pass up. IMO.

That's what I'm trying to avoid is the gap. But lowering it would fix that right?

That's ignorant. Tire size is what determines the wheel gap

I was just talking about with mine. I don't even know if the gap is the same on the coyote as the 3v.

Rim size has nothing to do with that, its overall tire diameter. You can run 20s with a thin sidewall or 18s with a normal sidewall and have the exact same diameter.

So would I want more sidewall? Is that what is gonna get more traction? Or is it how wide? Or both? I know I sound like an ignorant sob but I didn't grow up around cars.

Compound of the tire and suspension is what determines traction. The Width not so much as people think. You can run a 325 street tire and a 275 drag radial and the drag radial will hook better.

So with that being said there's no need for me to get rid of my 20's il just get a drag radial?
