Flip down license plate holder

Hello all, I was wondering if the plate relocator that AM sells would fit my roush front splitter as I'm looking to have my bumper filled and resprayed. It specifically says it doesn't fit the CS, "roush body kit", and a few other applications. Yet I find it funny because one of the pictures is a CS with it installed....anyone with first hand experience?

It'll work but you'll have to mount it far enough to clear the splitter. So it won't lay against the bumper. It'll stick out a little.

Ok, thanks for the heads up. Much appreciated. Gotta love the false info on AM...

I had mine mounted when my bumper was stock, then I did a roush splitter. I started looking at where I'd re mount it...and after much debate I said F it and have been plate less since. It's doable, but it's going to require some fabrication to get it right. Also, when you are living the "low life" expect it gets ripped the hell off you car. It hangs down about 1.5-2"

Yeah I actually saw your car on the reviews/pics because I recognized the VA vanity plate lol. I figure I'll pick one up because they're quite stringent on enforcing the front plate in MA...😡

What kind of fabrication are we talking about here bud? You have some first hand experience here. Obviously the splitter is rounded so I would afraid it might look awkward or not mount right...

I mounted it to my boss/CS fascia. 3 screws into plastic, not much fabrication there. When the plate is down and folded away, the track frame sticks out an inch or so. Had to in order for plate to come up and sit upright since I mounted it directly in the middle and the little point of the fascia doesn't allow it to be flush. Probably why some ppl mount them off to one side or the other.

Good to know man. I'm debating where to put it with the roush splitter. I wouldn't even be doing this if I wasn't getting a smoking deal on a bumper respray but it just so happens that I am.

However you can, do it cuz that plate in the middle of the bumper looks pretty bad. Where there's a will there's a way.

It's awful man. Such an eye sore. But I'm a dummy because I always forget to tell the dealership not to drill into my sh*t!!! I've been debating doing it now for a while and I think now is the time.

My sales person asked me if I wanted them to mount it....I even had them put "No front plate mount" on the sales order. I tuck it on my dash against the windshield...yeah I can get busted but am willing to take the risk. In my favor is being older & white armed with the knowledge that for tickets like this your attitude to the officer is a big factor.

They had to drive my car a bit from NJ so they mounted it. Never asked. I'm white and 31, but around my area they will nail you for it and it's a moving violation. I've been around the block with police etiquette and whatnot so I know the drill. I respect the hell out of law enforcement. My brother is a customs agent. But I'd rather be safer than sorry at the end of the day. We'll see if this flip up plate works lol.

Yep. Probably have to use washers and whatnot to make this work on the roush splitter, so we'll see...

Yup, right at the end of the video you can see the track frame sticking out like I mentioned.

Rosariors3, it's in the 70's in Syracuse, NY! You get those boxes opened yet!?! I know, it's killing me too! Want to play with some vinyl before driving again but the itch is bad!

I just got back from the required VIN inspection here in Colorado since my new ride came from Florida. There is no front plate required there and had no bracket. The office was quick to tell me to go get a bracket. I asked if i could just put in the front window and was told a very stern NO!!! He then told me that is the spot where they bounce the laser off of, since its most reflective surface and it's the law. So thanks guys for the ideas as to me one of the best features is the nose.
