hood took a shot

Was driving on the highway and Pick Up 3 car lengths in front of
me in the middle lane hits a big chunk of Retread in the road
strait on, so it shoots it at my left front side, slaps the hood and
bounces off my windshield. On closer inspection, it left a nasty welt
on the hood, like a 5 inch crease, not too deep.
is there any methods to push out the dent from the inside?

Search for "paintless dent repair".

I want to hear from a mustang owner with experience, since our hoods are made from a non steel material.

When my 2014 GT was 6 weeks old it had 4200.00 worth of hail damage. Paintless dent removal did the top, trunk, sides, looks perfect. But they replaced the hood, told me the dent removal doesn't work so well on aluminum hood.

As stated in that article Guard 5.0 posted above.
"Dents can be pulled from aluminum with excellent results but it is an advanced skill set."

I've seen a dent pulled from a 13' hood. Somehow my buddy managed to get his hood with the Yeti cooler. Came out perfectly, but the guy had been doing this for a long time.
Either get it repaired or time for an new good (if you want).

PDR should work well on smooth surface, such as roof or trunk lid. I guess it doesn't work on hood because of the ridge lines or hard angles. So when they look at hail damage they just generally say no. If the place of hood dent is smooth, PDR should be ok.

I also think that if OP's car isn't a 13-14 GT, it might be a good opportunity to drop a set of heat extract slots into the hood if the dent in on right place.

My buddy got a nice ding taken out of my hood. Watched him do it. Took 2 minutes which included setting up the light, pulling the trim, and working the ding out.
