GT500 Strut mounts don't work on stock struts?

Went to install my SR springs today and bought GT500 Strut mounts as well...from what I tried they would not fit on the stock struts because there wasn't enough thread available even without the spring on....am I missing something or should i just get new struts..

Gt500 strut mounts only work with 05-10 struts.

If only this information was readily available here when someone did a quick search.

05-10 parts (struts fer sure) are cheaper than 11-14 parts and you'll save a few bucks if you keep the gt500 mounts and go with 05-10 struts.

Obviously, there's plenty of people on this forum who prefer to post useless, sarcastic comments instead of actually trying to help. But, there's plenty who will help you out also.

Anywho, as stated above, I'd recommend buying new 05-10 struts to go with the lowering springs and mounts. You should buy new struts with lowering springs anyway.

If you're referring to me don't dance around it. Come right out and say it.

And for the record I've already posted this information half a dozen times already as well as a ton of suspension tech in the past here. A quick search would have saved him a headache no?

So 05-10 Struts and shock will work on my 11?

I wonder why they discriminate with 05-10 and 11-14 instead of just 05-14...

Yes, 05-10 struts with the gt500 mounts will work on your stang. Only difference is how log that stud is on top

Will they work well with the car being lowered 1.5 inches?

I also do have the Adjustable Camber Bolts..but haven't installed them yet

Stock ones...no, they blow out pretty quickly on lowering springs.

Aftermarket, same as the 11-14

Honestly you should do a search. There are a billion threads with the answers to your questions.

Yes they work with the gt500 mounts as stated. The shaft diameter from my recollection is smaller, the 11-14 shaft won't fit through the gt500 mount. If you're buying new anyway, buy a strut/shock combo that's designed for lowering springs. Everyone says the stock struts/shocks will have decreased service life and performance. I happen to be using stock struts/shocks (24k miles) but I'm only lowered 1"F 1 1/2"R.

My ears were burning so I found this thread.

One can do both btw. Can call out someone for not doing any research before spending $hundreds (sometimes more) in parts that either don't work or aren't optimal or need XYZ to work on their application, and then help them fix their **** up.

Which is exactly what is happening in this thread.

This has been covered a lot, but I agree, it would be nice for all of the vendors to kind of throw that out there for the people that don't want to research anything before they buy. Since you have the mounts now, I would get a 2010 strut setup that you would like to go with them.

You can always go with Ford racing adjustable struts M-18000-C. That's what i did. These are the rears. Fronts are going in next weekend. Gt500 strut mounts are required with these struts.

Funny, I searched and still did just that! Got em off a member, then decided to stick with the stock struts but buy the massively awesome belong on the space shuttle Steeda mounts. Now I don't have to worry about forgetting if I have 05-10 or 11-14 parts on my car. Already senile enough!

The thing is, they do.

CJPonyParts: "With the installation of aftermarket struts and springs, such as Ford Racing's 2005-2010 lowering springs and dampers, they will also fit the 2011-2014 V6, GT and Boss Mustangs."

If your putting on lowering springs, then you should replace the struts and shocks both. Otherwise, they will wear out before their time.

GT500 Strut mounts since I already have them

The SR Springs

(05-10) Koni Shocks and Struts

And the Eibach Pro Alignment Camber Bolts since I already have those too....

I'm guessing those bolts should give me enough adjustment so that I won't need the adjustable Strut mounts..?

You won't need camber bolts if you install the GT500 mounts correctly.

And those SR springs leave a lot to be desired. I would go with BMR springs.

Just ordered the Koni 05-10 Shocks and struts.

Researched if there was a difference between the Steeda Pro Action and Koni and didn't see anything wrong with either. They were also cheaper on AM.

I'm guessing you're referring to the Arrows on top of the GT500 Mounts?

Do you have scientific evidence they are inferior, or is that just because they're cheaper? Anyone could start a business cranking out cheap springs, but as long as they charge you out the *** you'll feel better about it?

I know for a fact there have been failures with those springs and when the feedback was posted on American Muscles website those posts were removed.
