N/a mustang safety loop question

For a N/A car with drag radials and stock two piece drive shaft that see the track maybe 2-5 time a year. When should I get a drive shaft safety loop? I know it's a good cya part but I'm wondering if I should hold off until I get a one piece drive shaft.

Thanks

The need for one with a 2 piece shaft is greater than with an aftermarket 1 piece unit.

Get the bracket when you get the 1 piece driveshaft. If you don't have one already, I would also do a shifter and/or shifter bracket at the same time.

Thanks for the info. I'll grab one just to be safe.

Any DS loop you buy will be fine with either a 1 or 2 piece shaft. people underestimate significantly what the stock shaft can take but, it's still a tier 1 safety piece in my mind. My stiffer's bolts directly to the trans mount, no hassle. It's a requirement at my track for anyone running a slick tire, regardless of speed.

Most drag strips and tracks require a safety hoop. They also will usually require a helmet. Both are fairly standard safety items that their insurance requires. Of course, a roll cage and a fire resistant suit are the next things to consider if you start to get into the sport. Neither are extremely expensive, but they will have a good chance to save your bacon in a crash.
