Hood Turn Signal

Anyone else see these today?

Mustang Hood Mount Turn Signal Kit - Amber LED (05-14 All) - Free Shipping

I know it is a 2016 feature, wonder what it looks like on ours. I might need a set.

Alex, any pics or vids of this on a car coming soon?

looks like something Camaro owners would do, along with LED underglow.

Really? So this stock option is comparable to rice? I understand how side and hood scoops can be considered silly, but these actually serve a purpose.

Also, what do camaros have to do with this?

I've seen too many Camaros modded with extra lights that don't do much. I know it's offered with an anniversary edition. I just don't care for the option on 05-14's, only my opinion. If I was going spend a hundred on lighting, I'd lean toward puddle lamps or aftermarket fog lights, something more for illuminating the dark at night.

I won't talk smack on body pieces that attach with 3M tape lol. Those actually look really cool most of the time. I'd be super stoked if Roush sold a functional hood for the 11-14, because that scoop looks amazing, would be cooler if it wasn't 3M tape lol.

I think it's a nice retro touch... They were an option on 68's

Not sure how well it would work fitting into the hood heat extractors, they're there for a reason. Blocking one of those vents would be, at best, questionable.

Definitely would not hurt anything. Don't even need the extractors if you aren't on a race track for long periods of time. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 11-12 GT don't have heat extractors and the V6 doesn't have them either. They are functional but there are people with CAI who seal the extractors to keep water out. Obstructing a vent with a light will have no measurable difference on ambient temperatures in the engine bay.

You're probably right but I remember reading that they added the extractors on the GT because they needed to push more cooling to the extra set of cylinders in the back.

Agakn, you're probably right about it not having a huge negative effect unless you're on track.

Spot on with the other years. Only 13-14 GT has'em.

Ooh, just like my old '68 coupe's vented hood. Things like this do make me smile a bit. I did the sequencers on the tails for every function and I love that, I'm having Ford replace my bad puddle lamps bc the girlfriend likes them. I'll probably slide CS fogs in there at some point, just to have 6 lights on the bumper.

On this though, I'm 6' and I really can 't see the extractors themselves on my 14, unless I jack the seat way up, which feels unnatural in a sporty car. So, the flash might be invisible or like the sun just poking over the horizon. On my '68, I could directly see the light bc the hood was flat and the light mounted pretty far downrange.

I noticed and thing it is a decent idea. I wont do because it sort of ditracts from my "theme" if you will. That said I definitely don't think rice, I think retro

probably late to clarify, but my comparison to LED underglow wasn't meant as an implication that it's rice, just that it's lighting that, from my perspective, serves little/no purpose.

That's fine. A turn signal serves a lot more purpose compared to underglow though.

Just depends if he wired them right. Smart move I think. I'm a fan of his work around, but not visually appealing in my opinion.

I made it work with the turn signal but didn't like them no one will see them, so I make them work with side markers.

Good job wiring them correctly and saving a ton of money, very smart move. I like it.

I'd be careful with running those all the time with side markers, if you carefully read CFR's the law is very nit picky on automobile lighting. Since they aren't projecting forward or sideways it's probably fine but it's something to look out for.

$100!? You can do this yourself for under like $30.

What is the benefit of this?
