The numbers don't seem very good to me. Comparing my buddies bone stock 5.0 he puts down 60 more torque.

Should have been done in 4th I believe closer to 1:1 ratio its 1.14:1 vs 3rd gear 1.52:1. May have robbed some numbers. Dyno is just a measurement. Go run it at the track the true test

I have ran at the track. My post is about my dyno numbers. They look very low on the TQ and a little low on the HP. Dynojets put out crazy high numbers don't they? My car has Mike roush tune and borlas yet my numbers are worse then a friends stock 2011 Auto 5.0. Tried to do a 4th gear pull but the car would jump down to 3rd like it was passing..

So what did you run? You can take your MPH and weight of the car to get an accurate HP reading. Like the others said, a dyno is a tool for tuning, and the numbers are just that, numbers. Track times tell you a whole lot more.

Well with a 118 trap you should be in the 400 WHP club, easily.

Agreed, 118 trap should get you in the 400s as I was at 115 with 406rwhp.
Your numbers are bad because you were in 3rd gear.

Just don't get caught up in the #'s they are going to vary greatly from car to car and dyno to dyno ect.
If you get caught up on them it will 99% of the time leave you disappointed

I don't waste time with dynos that don't have staging lights at the front end. They are a tuning tool, nothing more. You can make a dyno show pretty much any number you want but, what you can get to happen at the track is the true measure.

OP, your numbers are all sorts of messed up lol. Find a different dyno. Those are nowhere near the right numbers.

Well im not worried about the numbers im just kind of confused about how low the torque was. I know what I run at the track and this is the first time I Dynoed the car so I wanted some input as to why it might be so off (maybe 3rd gear pull). I know nothing about Dynos so I wanted to get the more experienced guys to take a look. I know its a tool and for that reason I wanted to test Bama vs Mike roush tunes on it but I stopped as soon as I seen how off my numbers were. My intention was to post the numbers on both tunes and I also wanted to get a baseline then go back when I add my off road pipe and give the numbers to your guys for some good reading and info.

and before someone says "test all that at the track", well I went to the track and was going to do all the same testing about 6 months ago but the track was so packed and hot I only got 2 runs in. Testing was impossible. That day I ran like a 12.8 @ 116 in the Southern CA heat mid summer.

I dug up a time slip and I didn't go 118mph sorry. This slip says 12.53 @ 111.32, 60 foot 1.997. Reaction time of 176. Can't find my 12.4 slip but I think it was 114mph.

Dyno numbers

1) I thought that 118 looked a little high, I've run 12.5 to 12.7 and my top speed was 113 -114.
2) the only way you can compare dyno numbers is run on same dyno, same atomospheric conditions. I've seen a video where they put a 2012 with some bolt ons on a dyno somewhere in Texas, everybody had parkas on an the thing put down 400+ hp. Do it in the middle of summer and it could be 350 hp. There are corrections that need to be made for it to be SAE hp as the mfg's rate it so be careful about comparisons. Sorry, my only dyno experience is with stationary eddy current dyno's and we have a load cell right of the dyno arm so we get a very accurate measurement of torque. And everything now is in SI units.

111 is a well-running stock car territory so, that's not so hot. 118 is stock car, full weight but, with a full exhaust/tune setup. Seen it many times on these cars. I was able to squeak up to 115 through stock exhaust and intake, on a 91 tune but, it took some work to get there, focussing on maximizing traction so, I could transition to power delivery quicker.

Many people who have never ruitn at Fontana here in California don't understand its a fairly slow track. DA is rarely that great not to mention it's been noted that from starting line to finish ur going uphill like 10-15 feet

Well, that's true. Tracks vary, like dynos do. Good to have a consistent comparison. Cecil is notorious for being speedy, for example.

My local track, Mission Raceway in BC, Canada can be very fast on the right day, as it's physical altitude is 25' but, the DA swings widely and the dewpoint can sap energy early in the night.
