Power loss revisit

So I am revisiting my power loss on my VMP kit. Initially, after VMP looked through my datalogs, the conclusion was spark plug blow out causing the loss as well as potentially running out of fuel.

So I have swapped the Iridium plugs I had gapped at 0.028 to TR-6 also gapped at 0.028. I have also installed a Roush Fuel Pump Voltage Regulator.

I had it dynoed locally a couple of times, and according to the local tuner there is nothing he can see in the data as the power falls off ~5800 RPM (see attached) Throttle blade angle is being commanded, AFR is fine, boost is not falling off, IATs, Cylinder head temp, Fuel pump duty cycle, etc. all look kosher.

He didn't want to tune it if the tune was not the problem. One thing he did say that I should look at is the cats. A couple of months when trying to remote tune on the street, the CEL flashed indicating a misfire and that may have damaged the cats.

Would a partially collapsed/damaged cat be a culprit? Other leaks?

I really am at a loss at this point and frankly I am getting annoyed at throwing money at the problem. But that's life, amiright?

I am sending the data to VMP as well, but *any* opinions would help me.

Could be, definitely but, you shouldn't rule out engine damage as well. It would be good at least to do a compression test to verify you're solid there.

"Engine damage" - the stuff of nightmares.

I am having the cats cut out tomorrow and having a pipe installed in their place as a trial-and-error. If that helps, I will just go take off the stock headers and get a pair of Kooks.
If that doesn't do anything, then I will work with my mechanic for a compression test.

If engine damage is a possibility, would it only show up at high RPM?

Stuff like a soft valve spring, a cracked ring land or lifted head will be more noticeable at high load and rpm, yes.

No reason for panic, just eliminate it as a possibility.
