Which gaskets when installing headers?

I will be installing BBK longtube headers in about a week or so, along with an off-road X pipe. The headers came with the BbK gaskets.

I've heard lots of people saying the OEM gaskets are better.

The car has about 58,000km on it, should I re use the stock gaskets, the BbK gaskets, or pick up some new OEM gaskets?

Get new gaskets. OEM. If the stock attaching hardware is studs then they should hold just fine but you will want to re-torque 2-3 times after a few heat cycles each time.

Ensure you use a torque wrench and go in the correct pattern and I'm really not sure why ppl will spend $$$$$ on headers and then try to skrimp on the gasket.

Yeah I know some people who just use RTV but I wouldn't risk it. New headers should come with a gasket right?

The OEM gaskets are better than the ones that come with the manufacturers headers.

Better as in, less apt to fail? Have the ones that come with the manufacturer's headers been known to fail?
Yeah, I used the latter.

If you were to lay them both out side by side you would see the difference. And yes there have been failures with non OEM gaskets.

No need to lay them side by side as I can recall they are like night and day. OEM were 3 sheets of metal riveted together while the BBK were a single layer of some type of graphite composite.
I saved the OEM which were like brand new.
