Clamps

Where did you purchase your clamps.
I actually got a hold of a sales rep for tenneco and he told me the correct clamp is available at autozone, but I can't find it on line. I got two band clamps from Rock auto but they aren't rounded like the factory clamp and I wasn't real pleased with the factory.
If you have a P/N that 'd be great.
A walker 36439 is a flat band clamp

Well seeing as some shops are over $100 for an hour of labor its really not that unreasonable if they factored in stuck bolts for the stock pipe or whatever. They probably figured 2 hours of labor if they are a normal $80/hr independent shop especially if that is what the book time on it is. You never know.

You resuse the factory clamps.

Clamps

Yea....
That's part of the problem as they don't really seal all that well.
The sales engineer at Tenneco told me they make a clamp for the boss that is beefier, but every time I try to find it, I get this walker 36439. Its a beefier clamp, but it is not a beveled/rounded clamp, its flat.
I was hoping somebody had replaced the factory clamp, I know I've seen it, but can't locate it.
I'll try a separate thread

Devil Strider,
As a retired soldier, I am grateful for the time I was able to spend at the Base Auto Craft Shop @ Ft. Carson. Minimal $$ and they always had professional help if required. I encourage you to do ALL your work yourself. Not only save $$, but you'll get tremendous satisfaction.

I love the base hobby shop for giving cheap lift access... but the one around here is such a pain in the nuts because you cannot reserve lift time and there are some real "gems" they have working there.

Yep I'm going to the base shop. It's like $4hr to use the lift and you get access to free tools.

I would encourage anyone who is considering having a shop to do work on your car, to consider doing that work yourself. Some jobs you'll obviously have to farm-out but the more you can do yourself, the better off you will be!

I agree. I've done most of the work on my car myself. I just installed my x pipe and saved $100+.

Hey I'm stationed at Carson as welll, haven't seen your car around. If you ever need a part installed by somebody else I would definitely consider EDP, Danny is really good on prices and his knowledge is incredible as well. Now to start saving up for one of his turbo kits!

Depends on the size turbo you go with, I would add him or the EDP page on Facebook and you can get more details. Best shop in town in my opinion.
