The NEW Victor II intake manifold

Guys I see that edelbrock has there new intake manifold out. Anyone have it? Whats your thoughts on this over the Boss and the stock intake? It looks to be expensive $999.

They have already said the $999 is a place holder, not the actual price. From what i heard it should be comparable to the Boss in price with a better torque curve. Not sure how it will compare to the CJ though.

66 views and no one knows about or has info on this new intake? Come on you top dogs let's here what you all think. Looks kind of like the CJ manifold yet the use of our stock TB and CAi can be used. IMO if that's the case then it will be like getting a CJ but saving money on all the other crap you must have to install a CJ.

I don't think it has started shipping yet, that is why there is no info. I believe there is a vendor who got his hands on one but had to signed a NDA so detailed are still limited...We will have to keep waiting.

OHHH I seen it on a site and it said "new" and the price $999. But now that Im looking on a few other sites it says coming in spring 2016. If this does what the boss does but with no loss of TQ you will see Boss manifold flood the market and for cheap lol. I also like the fact that I wont need to wind the piss out of my motor (Boss).

In my mind there's no point. The boss is making good power and sure, suffers torque a little, but once you're already moving that means nothing. Same with the cobrajet. The CJ and Boss arent "that" different in design, most of the advantage comes from being able to use the massive TB and intake. Just dont see a spot in the market for this, especially if its priced over the Boss unit.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Isn't there a "controversy" as to what the boss actually benefits from in the 1/4 mile? All we need to do is go to the boss sticky at the top of the forum here and its a controversy. Those who love it rev there coyote to RPM's most of us don't want to. So I see a huge benefit just right there. Another benefit is keep your stock CAI/TB and save money. The price does look high but as mentioned above the $999 isn't the price it is just to hold your manifold. Another benefit is that it will be able to use "most" shock tower braces, more $$$ saved over the boss. Another benefit is the use of a 90mm TB. According to Edelbrock the opening is 90mm unlike the stock its 80mm or 85mm. I guess the real question is, is it what it says it is. TEST TEST TEST and we shall see. I want one if its better then the boss down low.

Thought you were talking about the price. The numbers look good but it's gonna need a real test.

The NEW Victor II intake manifold

No way that's legit. Just from an intake? Same TB and CAI. It's the equivalent of a axle back exhaust claim that you get 20 Hp or a CAI that claims something similar. Price per actual HP gain you are better off spending your money elsewhere in my opinion (and yes I realize the price isn't set at 999, but if it's comparable to the boss or CJ it's still pretty pricey).

I hope I'm wrong. I think it's cool they are starting to expand the products available for these cars. But in not buying the gains they boast.

Did anyone see the video of the white 13/14 Mustang catch fire at a dragstrip? It appeared to have the new intake on it. I'll see if I can find it.

I'd say those were likely crank numbers in the OP video, but if you start doing the math it doesnt really make sense that way either. Yeah, i know all dynos are different and you cant compare numbers, but there should at least be a ballpark. That manifold apparently makes 25 more horsepower than my cobrajet set up did on my m6 5.0 ... i think not. Yeah i had kooks shorties and an H-pipe, so maybe i was down idk 10-15 whp, but still.

It's a boss manifold not the victor 2.

You can tell bc it has the raised lines on it, the victor 2 has recessed lines.

The Edelbrock unit is aluminum and wouldn't melt like that unless it got much hotter then that.
I so want this darn thing to be out and able to read loooong threads about this and not that boss crap. Well not crap to those who bought one but the pickings are slim for the manifold so what choice did they have? hahaha

Nope, nothing new...If you have plans to buy a Boss or CJ i'd just do it. I was originally going to try and gold out for it or the holley sniper but decided it was not worth the wait. You can only make so much more HP NA by changing out the manifold.

True that only so much power can be made from the manifold but I'm more about the power made early and I don't want to rev like I'm a street bike. Its taking the after market world a long time to come out with this and im sure its no bust.

The NEW Victor II intake manifold

The claims of 16HP and 27TQ are engine Dyno numbers. So wheel 14WHP and 22WTQ over stock manifold.

If that's the case then the TQ over the Boss is like 30+TQ???

Aluminum? Wouldn't heat soak be really bad?

Fact is Aluminum is better at removing heat from air than plastic, and has a lower friction resistance to air than plastic. Manufacturers put plastic because its cheaper to make than aluminum.

The block & heads are aluminum so why not the intake. Intake air moves through the passages so fast the air unlikely gets changed.
