Nano with nitrous

I'm planing on adding a nitrous kit to my 14 Saleen, I'd like to add a nano set up with it. A friend of mine added this set up on his Vette, I know I'm comparing apples and oranges between cars. I know the system maintains constant pressure all the time. It seems to work well for him. Just seeing if anyone else has used this and what about tuning, is it tricky? It seems like not to many people have a lot of experience with this. Any help would be great! Opinions also welcome.

Honestly I think it's a waste. I had 4 different nitrous setups on my coyote.

Plain and simple it's not something I would ever consider

I thought it was a bit much at first also but you can add it for about 300 bucks, and use the whole bottle of nitrous. They say even with a bottle heater your pressure decreases on your way down the1/4. Please, I'm not arguing, just putting up some of the defense I've heard so I can get to the bottom of this and find the best set up for 150 shot on my car. I don't want to say money isn't an issue but I want to do it properly.

Put it his way I have sprayed everything from 75, 100, 150 , 200, and finally a 300 on the coyotes. Never once had a problem with pressure dropping.

And that is with 2nd - 5th gear pulls. Spraying all the way to 7800

You can get one if you want. But I still say it's a waste.

Bottle heater is an easy way to deal with this issue. The biggest thing on a Coyote is using a system your tuner is familiar with. Nano isn't widely used outside the LS community so, if I were to advise you and, know, I have nitrous on my car and have used it enough in my life to have to buy carbon offsets for all the greenhouse gases I'm creating , buy go with a brand well embedded in the Coyote community, like NX, Nitrous Outlet or JMS.

Biggest single issue with nitrous on a Coyote is distribution with the stock manifold. Definitely get a plate system at the least, especially if you're planning to shoot over 100.

I am planning on using the nitrous outlet kit with the nano, if I'm not using nano, possibly nitrous outlet or express. Is the jdm kit only a dry kit?
I think I'd like to stick with wet,
How bout a controller?
I'd like to spray 150 shot, should I se a plate or nozzle?
I also ordered a cobra jet intake with twin 65's

Wet is risky in this platform, because of the distribution issues I mentioned. If you go wet, you must go plate or DP over 100, to be safe. Do not shoot 150 with a nozzle system. That's just too risky. I am on an NX plate, with a 100 shot at this time.

You will definitely want at least a window switch if you are on a stick. You can get away without one on an auto but, it's still a good idea.

My view with nitrous is, keep it simple, stupid. Need bottle pressure? a plug in heater. Need to know pressure? a 35 dollar pressure gauge. Need track legality? a blowdown tube and metal brackets. People overegg the pudding with purge valves, auto bottle openers and thermo heaters and thus, they often ending up chasing failure modes. My setups just don't F up, because there is nothing to F up. If there is N20 in the bottle, it's going in the engine. On my drag bike, it's even a pushbutton activation for me. I wouldn't do that on a Coyote, it needs a TPS switch for safety.

So your saying use the plate system, I get that, but your saying not a bottle heater. I'd love to use a DP set up with the cobra jet, it looks awesome! I might have nitrous out let do this.

Definitely need a bottle heater but, just 100 buck NOS element and a length of wire with a lighter plug on the end is all you gotta have. No fancy thermo controls, solenoid switches and other ****. Plug it in, keep an eye on it, when it hits 900-1000, unplug it. Lots of room for DP on the CJ, definitely. I'd say if you are going that far, you might want to ditch the procharger idea and go multi-stage N20.

I'll be honest, I did't like how the centri blower made power on this motor. The required tuning made the bottom and light throttle operation feel like a soggy stocker and to get any jam out of it, yo had to rev it high and open the throttle hard. So, it was a bit disappointing ultimately and that's why I sold it. Do it again and it's PD blower for sure, or turbos. For now, the spray is great. I have a grand total of about 800 bucks in the power adder and comparing that to a blower, I can fill alot of bottles for that difference. I can keep my aggressive VMP auto tune performance running around and flip the tune at the strip for N20. I'm only really needing it at the track anyway.

I've been against nitrous, til now, my local shop just kinda pissed me off when they had my black Saleen and a tree fell on my car when they had it. I just put 25k into it and never got to drive it. So now I bought a newer Saleen and I'm starting over as I sell off the parts. Nitrous is a mush cheaper way to go fast, lol

Nano with nitrous

Cheaper as long as you do the preschool setups. Start playing with the big boys and it gets expensive.

I had close 5k in my complete system.

Also the regular heaters are a joke.

DP will definetly add to the cost, I didn't mean anything negative, just to get me back on the street a little faster with some HP. I have never used it before, my last car was a kenne bell, just did the bottom end, Slawco racing heads, cams, whole nine yards, looking for about 900 RWHP and then I don't even have a car, sucks starting over!
Can't seem to leave anything alone, lol
We mess around a lot on the street and some track,
I don't always need to be up front but I definetely don't like being in the back

C'mon Rap, no need to be judgy or dismissive .

You are right, nitrous gets expensive too, when you get super serious but, I usually get a lot more than anyone expects out of relatively low key mods and that surprises people. Making the most of what you've got and knowing when you are having a good time is a pretty good life skill in this game.
