Has anyone upgraded their shaker 500 door subwoofers with the Shelby kicker upgrade kit?

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of them installed would you? How much are you looking to get for them?

I have them and they do make a good difference from the factory subs. My only complaint is the cheap feeling speaker grilles.

I was worried about that. They almost look like they're Styrofoam?

That's pretty cheap too for all 3 speakers.

Shaker 500 door subs

I upgraded my shaker system. I didn't use any sub woofer in the doors. I pulled out the cheap subs and instead installed a pair of 6.5" Polk MM 651 series coax speakers. And Polk MM 571 5"x7" coax speakers on the top side in both doors. The sound is as different as night and day. I also have a 12" Polk sub in a sub woofer box in the trunk. I'm running everything with the stock navigation / sync unit. With after market Rockford Fosgate amps. And a Kicker EQ.

Did you have to buy something to bypass the factory amp?

I swapped them out. the 2om vs 4 omh issue makes them no very loud. Since I have the Sync mach system I am looking for someone who can actually splice in an aftermarket amp.

I've got the 8" Shelby kickers in the doors. Definitely provide a cleaner bass. The way that the '13 Shaker system is set up though has the OEM subs running off of their own amp and the OEM speakers are dual voice coil. Substituting in the single voice coil Shelby's results in less volume output unless you also add an additional amp. Turning up the bass EQ also works well.

Instead of doing that, I ended up buying the Shelby Kicker powered trunk sub and the under dash amp that powers the four other interior speakers (also upgraded) but not the door subs. I think I ended up with a pretty good sounding system. The door subs kind of provide the middle bass while the trunk sub handles the heavy hard hits.
Now if I could just figure out how to stop my rear view mirror rattling from the bass!

There isn't really a way to get the rattling to stop. My 2 W3s used to rattle the s*** out of my rear view mirror
