K&N drop in vs CAI

I am currently running a K&N drop in filter with the stock air box and tube. A few friends are trying to convince me to get a CAI like JLT or something

Wondering if it will make much more gains than what I already have...

Car currently has BbK Longtubes, off-road X pipe resonator delete and roush AB

Some will say it gave gains and some will say the factory unit is a CAI so keep it like it is with the K&N.

Hot air intakes are for ricers and people who like to say "cold air intake" randomly in conversation as much as they can and at car meet ups in Walmart parking lots on Saturday nights.
Your car came with a factory cold air intake. A tune will provide some gains but not a pretty hot air super size filter cone.

Leave the stock airbox and paper filter alone. Get a Lund nGauge tune, gears and shifter and work on the suspension and you'll be much happier.

With your exhaust work and a real aggressive tune, you might see a couple ponies out of a cai. That said, I ran 11s at 115 with a tune and tire through the factory airbox and paper.

The k&n drop in is worth nothing and weakens filtering protection for the engine.

Same advice. I assumed a tune from the longtubes, etc.

The only after market filters I'd go with would be aem or afe because they are non oiled. Gains are minimal if anything but they are cleanable so it will last the life of your car.

I run a K&N in my stock airbox, love it. There is an art to cleaning
and re oiling the filter, if you do it fast and sloppy its not right.
And yes it will last years when taken care of.
The K&N filters the air more than needed unless your racing the car
on a dirt track or in the desert.

So paper filters (dry) are better than the oiled ones? I thought it was the other way around.
