Next Mod: Intake Manifold vs. Gears

Can't decide on my next mod. I currently am full bolt on's (intake, full exhaust, 85mm TB, 4C Circle D Converter) and tuned by Lund. Also I'm AUTO.
For my next mod I'm debating between gears or an intake manifold.
For the gears I'm thinking 3.31 or 3.55 from everything I've read. For the manifold, I can't decide between the two although seems like the Cobra Jet kit costs 3x as much while offering little gains over the Boss.

I roll race and take my car to the track every now and then to run the 1/4.
Currently my best is an 11.9 @120

Any input would be great on which mod would be best for me and what gains it may offer. Thanks!

Gosh 11.9 is not very good for the mods you have. Guys on here "say" they get 12 flat 11.9 with just a tire and tune. I'm a 12.4 with tune & cat back exhaust.

If you buy the parts yourself for the CJ manifold you can get it a lot cheaper. I got everything brand new for around $100 more than what it would have cost had I gone with a boss manifold.

CJ manifold: $500
Intake: $320
HPT Credits: $100
Throttle body: $130

But my car 100% stock at the time, since you already have mods you should just get the boss manifold and make sure Lund uses HPT when he tunes you. This way you can take advantage of the recent update allowing you to rev past 7700rm with out it flatlining.

If you're even thinking about FI down the road, pass on the gears. An intake manifold is only going to help you if you raise the rev limit and that takes supporting mods like oil pump gears and valve springs to do safely.

If you've got traction issues and haven't done anything suspension wise, I'd start with an UCA with bracket and LCA's.

Is the manifold a good investment if I do plan on going FI? Better gains than stock manifold with centrifugal supercharger?

Same...you need to raise the rev limit and if you do that + FI, it's even more important you have the supporting mods. Superchargers don't give a **** how good your manifold flows, they will fill it for you, no problem. I wouldn't go there myself, unless I was shooting for 1000 horsepower.

Who the hell told you 3.55s are good for a 2011+ auto?

3.15 is honestly a good ratio for the 5.0 Auto.

Especially if you plan on getting it boosted. Spinning ain't winnin' lol

If gears and and an IM aren't really recommended then what other mods does anyone recommend? I've gotten so used to the power that my car already has and would like to add something noticeable because it's been a while since I've had that exciting feeling of testing out and feeling the difference of a new mod.

Suspension and a good set of slicks. Drop half a second off your ET probably.

Also have the BMR adjustable upper control arm in the cart. Everything worth the cost? About 660

Next Mod: Intake Manifold vs. Gears

I don't think the lower control arms need to be adjustable

This, save some money and get fixed length. I'd probably go ahead and upgrade your panhard to an adjustable and firmer bushings as well while you're back there if you haven't.

I'm lowered about an 1 1/2 inches front and back. Shouldn't they be adjustable if you are lowered even a bit?

You need the angle right , not the length adjustable. That may mean relocation brackets.

Relo brackets and fixed length are all you need for the lowers. The upper is where you'll correct your pinion angle from being lowered. The only thing adjustable lowers can correct is thrust angle (think of the axle and driveshaft as a T, thrust angle is if that isn't straight), which shouldn't be an issue. Especially if you have an adjustable PHB and the axle is centered under the car.
