Exclamation Paint on buttons

I apologize if this was posted already. I searched and couldn't find an answer.

2011 GT owner here, and I'm noticing that the paint on a few of the most-used buttons/controls is flaking off. Is there some kind of sealant that I can put on them to keep them from getting worse?

I had this on my last car (2012). I think the best method is prevention. Don't load your hands with cream, don't ride the buttons and keep your nails trimmed. Once the damage is done, it's hard to repair in an aesthetically pleasing way. I carefully touched it up with semi gloss black paint and a fine brush but, it still looked different on close inspection.

On my 2011 with 61k miles and daily use, I didn't have this issue at all. Always had clean hands though, only touched them when I used them. Didn't use any harsh cleaners either, just whatever dampness was left on my microfiber towel after cleaning the rest of the interior.
